The guy who Dyno'd my bike and set up the fuel map for the PC III said that basically there is little freedom of mapping once you find the optimal fuel / air mixture i.e. the other maps won't make much difference to power and will likely result in rev ranges of lean or rich mixtures.

He could be wrong, but that's what i was told. I too had plans to plug in my laptop and do cool shit with the PC III but it sounds like it's a waste of time trying to change Dyno-tuned settings.

As for the tyres, I put some Pilot 2CTs on a few weeks back. I'd be keen to hear what you think of them. I think they are average-to-crap as the rear stepped out a few times in the wet on my last Coro Loop and I also fishtailed on a straight piece of road in top gear at approx 120kph - gave me a freakin heart attack!

Well my bike is gonna be weird I got 2 good tires.....front is Pirelli Diablo which I used on my previous Fireblade they are ok once warmed up while the rear is pilot power...I hear from Raj that they are wonderful tires.

Might just dump both tires and grab some conti's sport attacks if I find there do not fit my riding.

    OK all -

My original plan was to pick up the VFR on Saturday. The weather looks dirty that day. Sunday looks much better

I have found cheap bus fares which will get me to Katikati on Sunday shortly after 3. If you fellas are heading back to Auckers, I should be able to tag along for the latter part of the ride. If I miss you all, that's OK too, as I don't want to hold anyone up, and I'm sure I'll enjoy the trip just fine on teh beast of newness!

What is the route/approx timings? Unfortunately bus timetables are not known for their flexibility... (I know times will be VERY approx. We have phones, and can liase that way if it suits...)

yeah, once it's at optimum it's at optimum - you can only get so much from an engine so don't expect miracles that aren't in the form of a supercharger

Yes highly probably we will head out Miranda route then proceed to Coro....better hit the twisties in the morning since we are nice and fresh to attack those corners. Might come back thru SH1 if everyone is tired.

Hi Macstar don't think I'll be giving my rear PP as it is new but the diablo is half worn....by the way I am too poor for the next month gonna have to survive on instant noodles then.

Even I found that last comment funny thanks MotorB. It's a day I'll never forget and one reason I want to be upfront away from everyone else!

You however are a good Coro loop budy and I'm looking forward to hitting some of dem corners this Sunday with you. Maybe you can set the pace this time?
