XT660 aint as much of a motard as it is marketed as, it's heaver than most real motard's... but it does have that upright/dirtbike with road wheels look to it.

The Stranger bought one recently with more than a few mods done and he is enjoying using it as a work hack and a short-blat machine.

Go down and talk to a Yammie dealership or the bank (assuming you have your full and can get insurance)... You can them mint second hand for around $8k... or new for about $12k... works out to less than $100 a week over 3 years.

If I treated an XR the way that I treated the DRZ then it would be dead. Although the level of tech its not fair to compare.

    Tempting, but...

    How many horsepower.

Will it powerwheelie to balance point on stock gearing.

Dont know the horse power but much more tourqe than a XR500R done up and if ridden in the right rev range a hell of alot faster. When I was in the mood a wheelie was possible in each gear, if your in the mood, although its only a 5 speed.
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.

Occasionally, i remember pulling up to your work once, at the end of a dead end street.

Then going around and around knee down with my left hand off the bar in the air ripping ya the finger.

Ahh good times rudi good times bro! LOL

172 kilos or something like that. And only 45-50 horsies.

    Compared to a 134kg DRZ400SM with 37-40hp.

    You do the math.

If your looking for a mean ass motard.... look elsewhere.

You want an allrounder? Good choice.
