I remember that verified 314kmh top speed test from another review somewhere but can't find it. I recall one airfield test on a calm day recorded a verified 319kmh from a stock earlier model Busa as well.
So obviously a Busa recorded well over 300 at the recent speed trials here... however I'm not saying a modified one can't do that, but not a stocker. Maybe you can find a Busa and we put it up against a 312R next speed trial. If the Busa runs 319 even one way I'll buy you a beer, hell I'll buy beer if it runs 314. I reckon the Bus will come in

i was lucky enough to pick it up with the whole 4 into 1 and PC system on it and they also had the stock 4 into 2 system sitting out back so I got that as well - not that I'll use it but y'know...it's just nice having bike bits lying around the garage

This has probably been said a thousand times, Speedos are lying bastards, even on a stock bike. factor in gearing, tyre, wheel changes etc, and its even worse.

    depends on brands

some brands take off the rear wheel, which is alot more accurate than the front sprocket

or if bike has a speedo healer to correct said problem

Cliffhanger Sprints times. The Busa showed 317 on his GPS as top speed from memory. He had a funny looking bottle in his rear end.

    yep

i tested both my VFR and RF with a GPS; the RF was about 8% slow, the VFR was shocking, about 15% down

Shit 15% that means at 300 you are only doing 255, do you think we could argue that next time we get pulled over.

"sorry officer i assumed my spedo was 15% out"
