Raibows end was great fun - if a little wet and cold and windy.

I loved the Fear Fall...can't believe they still show the same tired old video in the dome cinema (since when I went there last as a spritely 13 year old)...pity the motion master wasn't operational or the carts - could've had some fun with those in the wet.

Sully one loved the Pirate Ship it twice and was keen to stay on it but two goes was more than dad would do and as mum joined after the first go and not up to another that was it...time to move onto another ride.

We got super cold and rather wet but due to the inclement weather we didn't have to wait in any queues and were able to ride many of the rides as many times in a row as our stomachs could handle.

We arrived home with dessert and booze in hand to the glorious smell of roasting pork.....aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaa NOICE!

    Right back to it....

Was great to finally meet you guys. Jimmy has been saying for a while that I would get on well with you and he's right. And you're welcome to cuddle Keiran anytime as you managed to settle him. Actually he's quite unsettled at the mo so if you could just pop round and sort him out that would be great!

    Homeward bound

The monsters are on the road heading south. Left here about 10am. The report from Transit this morning shows that all roads heading south are closed apart from around Taranaki! Looks likely it will be a very long day for them today. Fingers crossed for them, that another route gets opened before they have to take the BIG detour!

What a cool week we had!

    Part one of three...

Mummy and I started out by going to the airport. We had to wait a bit because the pilots who fly the planes were a bit scared of the all the wind and rain so couldn’t get out of Dunedin and we had to wait for another plane to come and get us. Lucky I had my colouring in books and crayons to keep me busy because I could have gotten in trouble if I decided to run away from mum for some amusement

We finally got on the big plane and as we were screaming down the run way I told everyone on board in my best ‘outside voice’ that we were going “really really fast!!!” and then we got up above the clouds and I told everyone how we were up “really really high!!!” and then when we were landing I told the pilot and everyone else (again in my best outside voice) that we had to “sloooooow down” Then when we got off we were in Auckland.

At the airport we met the other family we were going to be staying at Homai with and their Daddy, little girl and baby boy but I liked their mum the best

When we got to Homai we sat down and had some lunch and that's when Daddy arrived in the car. We went and saw some ladies who talked to mum and dad while I found all the trampolines, slides and swings and found out there were three playgrounds!

When we were finished mum and dad took me for a drive in the car to see what was around. I saw three KFC's, two McDonalds and just around the corner there was a Domino's – which I have never tried but I am rather partial to their logo and branding! We didn't go too far away but we saw lots of cars and lots of people and lots of big buildings.

On Wednesday we had a free afternoon so we all went to Kelly Tarltons, I loved the Stingrays and saw Dory and Nemo too! Then after dad had made himself beautiful we headed off for a visit with Riff Raff, White Trash and little baby Kieran. Dad was using an old map which meant we got to go on a little tiki tour of Papakura before we got there But when we did we had a good feed and I got a little drink of Daddy's beer before I got to play with some of White Trash's toys which are all girl toys

Little baby Keiran was crying when mummy had a wee cuddle but soon calmed down, Riff Raff was happy about this but she wasn't so happy that dad had his crack hanging out and shouted SAY NO TO CRACK! She's funny!

After a cool day at Homai on Thursday when Mrs White played the piano and we got to do some singing and dancing we headed off to the North Shore to have dinner with 007XX and 007XY. Daddy took a bit long to get ready and when we got on to the big motorway the cars were going very slow. It took a long time but we went over the big bridge that went over the ocean and then past the big courts where lots of girls were playing netball. (dad was a bit lost again!)

    Part two of three...

After collecting some yummy dessert we arrived at the 007 headquarters and saw their TV, Finding Nemo has never been quite so easy before, wow!

So after a lovely dinner and a bath I had a sleep in 007's sons’ bed while all the adults laughed and told stories. Mum and Dad got me up and we drove back to Homai across the big bridge again.

On Friday I went to the school class again with Mrs White and had a great time while Mum and Dad went and talked with some of the other teachers. We then had morning tea with yummy cream cakes but I had to be quiet because a man called Mr Keys was talking and Mummy and Daddy and all of the adults wanted to hear what he was saying. Nothing he was saying made any sense to me I don’t know what all the fuss was about. In fact I thought all the quiet adults would enjoy what I had to say much much more!!!

WE were now finished at Homai and set off back over the big bridge again, this time to go and see Mom and Maha and drop our stuff off there and go to the Waiwera hot pools where the big water slides are.

The pools are outside and the wind was very cold but when I got in the water it was warm so I really liked splashing around and getting Mummy and Daddy and all the other kids wet. Then Mummy and Daddy took me on the slides, I had a couple of goes but then I went down the slide called Bob’s mistake and as mum and I came shooting off the end I thought oh oh and got water up my nose when we landed so a I didn’t like the slides after that. We went back to the movie pool and stayed in there because it was nice and warm.

After the pool we went back to the Maha’s place to stay the night and get ready for our Rainbows End adventure the next day.

When we got up on Saturday there was lots of rain and it was very cold and windy but we could see two big rainbows. Mum and Dad weren’t sure about going but decided that we had come along way to not go so we got ourselves in the car and made the track back to Manukau. The rain was sooo heavy and there were heaps of SOAPs going the other way ready to invade the upper north. (SOAPS = Stressed out Auckland Pricks apparently)

    Part three of three....

When we got to Rainbows end it was very cold and there was lots of rain. The lady told us that they might close but we had a few hours before they made that decision so we decided to just get in there and go for it.

We went on the Log Flume first and got quite wet on the big dipper at the end – I laughed but mum complained of having a ‘cold wet crutch?” then we went to the roller coaster – I clearly need to start eating Taro though cos I was too little to go on so mum had two turns and then so did dad. They were funny to watch cos the rain was really hard and they had to close their eyes hard at times and came off really wet…it was cool to watch them go upside down really really fast. Then we went to Cadbury land and I went on the dragon roller coaster and the space shuttles and the horsey carousel. Then dad showed me some crazy driving in the dogem cars and mum also tried to take us out…sheesh crazy woman! I loved the Pirate Ship and made dad do it twice…mum felt bad so got on for the second go but neither of them would go a third – talk about soft!!! We went into the big dome and watched a funny video that made mum feel really sick…I didn’t really notice it too much and spent most of the time chatting up some girls and got a really dirty look from their mummy when I yelled out ‘Oh Jesus!’ after a big almost crashing scene played. By now we had had a great day and I was getting a bit tired and too cold so we jumped back in the car and headed back to the Maha’s place.

When we got back the house was lovely and toasty warm and Mom was cooking a divine pork roast – mmmmmmmm the smell was just heaven. After a nice bath I sat down and ate my veges and pork roast up like a good boy and after doing some drawing and watching Mom build Manuel the ice man. Then mum and dad popped me into bed so they could have some ‘adult time’ – I had a BIG sleep because I was very tired after the days fun and excitement.

On Sunday I was very excited cos it was time to head home and I would get to play with all my toys and see my cats and fish again. But lots of snow had blocked the roads and we had to go the long way round. This worked out good though because Pussy and Gassit Girl invited us in for a coffee and then demanded that we stay for another lovely roast dinner – gee we should go visiting more often me thinks! Pussy took me and daddy down to see the planes at the airport and I even got to stand on the wings and sit in the cockpit…aeroplanes are now my favourite and I have kept daddy very busy drawing them since. I had a lovely bath there too and after dinner and some chatting we hit the road again. I fell fast asleep and with no traffic on the roads we made good time arriving home at 12:40am Mum and dad were knackered – not sure why I feel fine

Today it is nice to be home and I have built an awesome train track and bridge and am still in my PJ’s as it is freeeezing here!

Anyway thanks to everyone who invited us into their homes it was awesome and we have all really enjoyed our first ever family holiday together.

    Sully one over and out!

It was really nice to meet all the people you mentioned in your report, it was even good to see White Trash again!

We really felt the KB spirit at it's best over thet last week and are extremely greatful to all those who welcomed us into their homes and treated us with kindness.

We can only hope we can show you all the same hospitality in the not too distant future
