I've learned... that to ignore the facts does not change the facts
Do you seriously expect me to believe that these politicians would implement policy based on nothing more than bullshit......

My sincerest condolances to Scott's family, who I have not met, but who he spoke to me of, and friends. A true loss for the motorcycling community in NZ.
Go in peace my friend.

A huge funeral today, what a turnout of folk from all aspects of Scott's life.
Good tales from Carissa & Lani.
He sure lived a full packed life.
RIP.
What a humbling experience that was. I'd hazard a guess that there would have been not a dry eye in the place. Scott woulda said "HTFU", but been secretly rather chuffed that so many held him in such regard.
We are richer for having known him.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
Well, I managed to get myself on a building site scaffold to photograph the procession to the service, it took 6 cycles of the traffic lights for the cortege to get through .... an awesome site. I took over 300 frames and Nasty did another 300 but we haven't analysed them yet so these figures are guestimates.
The pall bearers 6 bikes lead the 1934 hearse which was followed by all the bikes (around 20-30 I think) then came Carissa in Scotty's Mitsi Evo and then Lani in the lil black thing (the one with the big-bore exhaust and driven by the chick with the big right boot). Surely it's a Mitsi too, therefore a Mirage. Then followed all the cars and I will count them but as I said, it took 6 cycles of the traffic lights for them all to get through.
The cortege left Scott, Carissa and Lani's, went up Glouchester St, into Kennedy Rd, into Tennyson St and onto Marine Pde to the War Memorial Convention Centre on the foreshore. We'll count the numbers later from the photos but the convention centre was full, the annex was full and there were people in the lobby. That had to be at least a couple of hundred and surely more than that.
This was a celebration of a life that was fuller than most, that lived by the mottos of "no regrets", "go hard", "Step out of the known and into the unknown", "Just get out there and live your dream" ... and ... "After all, there may be no tomorrow".
At the service we learned of all the ways in which Scott made that happen. Scouts, 4WD in his suZUKI(N), car rallying, the Targa, the Evo and of course adventure riding - because for Scott, just plain "motorcycling" wouldn't have been out-there enough. We heard the funny stories, the tributes and the greatest of them all was the vid tribute by Lani on the big screen.
The celebration of Scott's life took almost 3 hours and it seemed like just 30 minutes. The piper, then Scott, lead us into the supper room. The vivd markers were out and the Mitsubishi Red Coffin received a liberal covering of comments, lies, promises and tributes from everyone ... reading some could make a sensitive person like me blush.
The day finished with all of the bikes leading the hearse off for a ride around the harbour while the children let go of 30 or 40 helium filled balloons to float free like Scott's spirit out to sea.
A day, a family, and a guy, I'll not forget for a long time.
Wow .
Thanks for that, that is really awesome.
