Yeah I'm sure he'd be disgusted by another kiwi bloke being so impressed with his lifes work that he had a go at customising his own bike to look like the Britten, in a garage using a few hand tools and bits and bobs. Don't knock it till you've tried it. All the negative comments are from people that are probably so cack handed with hand tools they can't even change there own oil

I stand by my post, it an old high milage common jappa that someone has tried to make look like a Britten, and failed. Where's the engineering skill?? There isn't any, I'm talking about real engineering not some crappy bodywork. It's like saying some boyracers car is cool and heaps of skill has gone into it and it looks like a GT40 because someone slapped a bodykit on a bog stock Honda Civic.

When you made your first scratch built plug -> mould -> part, how much effort was required?

LOL, not much, I used to be a pattern maker. Come on, how can you possibly say in honesty that that bike is even worthy of having the Britten name even associated with it FFS, it's a crappy old Honda which is BOG STOCK STANDARD with a body kit slapped on it. RICE

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

I like it and good on him.
Hard to believe the pack of moaners here - I'd like to see pictures of your handy work on your bikes. I suspect most of them have not even been cleaned in the past month.

I recall as a youth on several occasions going out to Ruapuna and watching the big Britten being developed - I tell you there was some pretty rough looking bits on that beast in its early years.

Many motorcycle companys have made road going supposed replicas of there race bikes for years......vastly different than the real thing but people like them enough to go buy them so heres a guy with no hope of building a Britten so makes his idea of a replica, cant see the problem.More power to him and great to see someone doing something a little different, who knows what he will come up with next.....maybe someone rubbished J Brittens efforts once but hey.

well just to add my 2c...I personally think the proportions look a bit out - or perhaps the standard frame and wheels don't do it justice?

BUT, it has taken a huge amount of work and the finish/quality looks fantastic from the photos. Huge respect for being able to create/re-create it from a 1:12 scale model - obviously talented and can do better with fibreglass than most people.

Big applause for the effort and quality of finish.

You like all 2 strokes apart from the 2 stroke V twins? This is probably the most popular configuration from the newer generation 2 strokes.
