Assuming he is guilty. He deserves nothing less than what he did to his victims. No excuses accepted, no leniency given; off with his head.

    Yep he's definately guilty....no question.

Think they are trying the insanity reason as opposed to the guilty as sin murderous intent... Lock him away with the criminally insane - he will become one of them after a while... some real weird ones in secure psyche wards that he will be associating with - ones that will chop ya nuts off with a rusty tin can bacause the voices told him to...

Quite right - no one made them do it....

The MOT and Police were amalgamated to accommodate this, if my memory is correct.

There were other economies claimed as well of course but the above was the driving force.
They only had limited powers of arrest - they could lock up drunks and disqualified drivers, but not those arses that assaulted them.

Other economics - maybe, but the main factor was that there are few contries left in the world where Police and Traffic were completely seperate law enforcement entities. Hence the merger, back in 1992. It won't change back for those same economic reasons.....

Definitely eye for an eye. He seemed to like sharp blades and chopping things off, how about he gets the same done to him? His victim had no say in it, so neither should he. Fuck, fraudsters get harsher treatment than murderers these days!! System's all gone to fuck. Too PC for my liking. Once you've committed a crime of this magnitude and it's 100% proven you committed said crime, you should have no rights, therefore no legal aid and no say.

It was John Bank's way of increasing the police numbers. He had made and election promise on this but never informed the public on what he was going to do. Both the police and the MOT were against the move, but since when did Banks listen to anybody but his own mouth.

Does anybody actually believe the crap this guy is spouting from the dock?

He is f*%ked in the head if he thinks that performance is going to save his sorry arse but not in a way that makes him not guilty of murder.

He'd be more believable if he claimed the Devil spoke to him. All he's gota do is play the TBN channel to the jury for proof. Now there's an idea may be he could get 'Joyce' as an expert witness on the subject of the Devil. She's coming out here soon to preach.

The girls gave him the drugs: He chose to take them.
The warehouse was used to strip stiolen cars: Put them all in jail.
The girls sneaked in a larger dose etc: Lucky him.
They kinda got what was coming to them: You live by the sword etc etc....

I happen to know an ex-copper who worked on that case and he's convinced there's not a lot wrong with the insides of this cock's skull, rather he's playing everyone like fiddles.

When you take illicit drugs you're taking a risk because the dosage varies wildly (in my experience) and there is also a risk of infection in certain circumstances. I doubt anyone forced this twat to take drugs and to use drugs (including alcohol) as an excuse for any crime is crap. If this lot was involved in a car theft/stripping ring (or ignoring it while they were on the premises) then I say jail the lot of them. It's too easy to get away with car theft in NZ, it sucks. Generally speaking a motor vehicle is a persons second biggest asset, sometimes their only asset. To lose it is often devastaing.

Sneaking drugs into somebody's drink, meal, syringe, whatever (or adding to already unkown doses) is bloody dangerous and could kill. If those girls did that then lock them up for that alone.

Why this trial has gone ahead I don't know but I sincerely hope it culminates in a bunch of cell time for those who deserve it.
