I did the Ewan Gilmore ride a few months ago which was organised by the Redeemed Riders, God Squad. Had I known that at the time I probably wouldn't have even thought about going. Ended up a fantastic day out with no one trying to force God onto us. They all wore their patches with pride. Now I wonder if these guys get any hassles from the other patched gang members?

Yeah, they are all "gangs" or groups of people with a shared interests. But unfortunately gang has the connotation of being trouble. That baddest of the bad have guys who just like riding, the best of the best have trouble makers.

I don't get hassles for my back patch I've been wearing for the last 3 weeks (and had I got hassles I'd had taken it off), it isn't a traditional back patch rocker set up. Just a cut up piece of cloth, painted up with a cardboard stencil and CKMC hand painted in the middle of it. Our "club patch" is an 8cm diameter circle patch for the shoulder that nobody really notices, similar sort of patch to the Plains MC patch. lol If you see one of our patches, you are amongst friends anyway :P

How about a big happy smiley as a patch - would that be likely to get you into trouble?

    Like just 15 inches diameter.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Nah, seen 'em around all sorts and never seen them hassled, I guess it's another one of those unwritten 'rules' - don't hassle the Godly riders even if 'patched'.

Your right and now its not so innocent. As events esculate (mmm hasn't invercargill been out of the spotlight recently) any possible patch showing may invite unwanted attention and this certainly includes the HOG and 'live free ride free' type insignia.

Is it wrong? yep, sure is, but then you wouldn't wear red to a bull fight now would you, I mean just to prove you could (ok, ok we all know red doesn't insight bulls but you get the message).
The Australian Ulysses just had their AGM up in Townsville.

My son txt me to say that there was 4,000 grey haired old barstards on bikes cruising around the town.

Seems the local bike gang took exception to them wearing their Ulysses Patch and paid the ulyssians a visit.

The police were called as a bit of a blue errupted.

Maybe they felt threatened by a bunch of old buggers on bikes....

    Pretty sad really.

    Unhappy Bike Clubs

Maybe this is a repeat, but can someone please tell me what is the big deal about belonging to a bike club, and wearing a patch for it. I am from SA where we have a big bike club community, as well as a even bigger gangsta community. What it is a bunch of friends hanging out together and doing things you enjoy. What is great is that the clubs do all sort of charity events, and just about every weekend there is a rally or a function.
Theres a good friendship between clubs, obviously sometimes there are some differences, but nothing major. I must say it was lots of fun, and no shit for the 10 years i belonged to a club.
