I heard he'd received Jebus into his wife. Or was it entered Jebus' life. Or something like that.

I don't ride with an angel. I ride with a Dragon as they are more durable than angels. They are good for well over 300kpm (hell they can fly a lot faster than that) but have not tested mine that far yet.

DON'T RIDE LIKE YA STOLE IT, RIDE TO SURVIVE.
I have had a RD for over 7 years , first a bel now a V1, they are not a license to speed but an extra set of eyes, Never let me down , haven't had anything that you could consider a close call with the RDand have even managed to talk a cop down who was trying to bully me into a ticket by saying he had me at X speed blah blah....I just pointed to the V1 and told him he didn't even have his radar on and to stop trying to get easy tickets by lying
...he thought that I would be a easy sale and admit to anything that he said
.., anywho, they really are only effective if you are doing no more than 15 k over, unless you have super human reflexes......

Actually Patrick one of the things that really pisses me off is that for all the "revenue" supposedly being gathered from motorists, not enough is being spent on upgrading or sufficiently clear road markings or signage for speed areas.
Both my wife and I have been very confused as to what speed zones we are in for quite long periods of distance when away from our familiar area.
Drift with the traffic and get pinged or slow down and get tail gated and abused try and estimate from the surroundings and get it wrong $$$$$$$.
The only reason I would like a radar detector is to warn me whats around during these moments of uncertainty.
Police "seem" to be unable or not allowed to act with discretion any more, I (and my family members) have been pinged for slight indiscretion in the most ridiculous situations and it only results in us getting highly pissed off with the police and losing respect for them.
Gone are the days of the fair cop by a fair cop, instead of our respected friends they are just another bunch of standover hoodlums in (official) uniform.
I am uncomfortable feeling like this but like it or not that 's the way this government seems to want it.John. (Generalised rant not directed at any person)
so what? take an inocent person out to gather revenue, i dont think so, wait till its safe, id rather the police let the speeder go.
didnt you see the cop who did a u turn on a blind corner in front of the two bikes? there lucky there not dead. fuck that!! brain dead pig.
one track mind, money money money.
so lets get this right, you wouldnt mind if the cop killed your family to get someone 10-20kmph over the speed limit?
I would have to agree with this post, and doubly so with the comments about being uncomfortable feeling like this as well as acknowledging that we are making generalisations (apologies to the handful of sensible cops that do see the bigger picture) I hear these kind of comments from more and more from normal, otherwise law abiding types of people.
What make it worse is when you travel to countries like the US who have much higher traffic volumes and yet they don't have anything like the heavy handed approach to minor speed infractions, in fact travelling at 10-15% above the speed limit seems to be the norm for all traffic including the police. They only seem to worry about people travelling at excessive speeds in relation to general traffic flow or those driving in a dangerous manner.
I for one would become quite law abiding if the open road limit was 120km/h in suitable areas - trouble with speed limits like most laws in this PC country is that everything is aimed at the lowest common denominator and the rest of us just have to put up with being dumbed down.
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes
If you ride alone, on main highways at high speed, your radar detector may be useful, but eventually you will get caught.
The rules are...
Ride on back roads, choose roads where your speed is never constant, ride in a group, have a pre-arranged plan - ie only tail end charlie stops, if he is bypassed by the cop, then he goes home free, and the next fella stops. Just don't stop in a group, and don't be too keen to let the cop pass ya. Never admit speeding ever, no one ever admits knowing other riders, and always take it to court.
Court costs the cops much more than it costs you. Deny everything, ask for everything, generally make sure the ticket is a loser for the cops even if they win.
Don't think they will always win either, even if you are completely convinced they will win. Cops botch it. They leave the force, don't show up in court, or just F. up.
And don't think the courts are on the cops side. Often quite the reverse. The relationship in the court can be quite anti-police, particularly if the ticket is dodgy, or trivial.
And tickets are about money. Defending them is bad business for the cops.
A cop can write a ticket every 10 minutes if he can find the customers. But if they are all defended, a weeks highway patrol will cost him the rest of the year in court.
David must play fair with the other kids, even the idiots.
Well I use one, a Bell 950, its a great wee unit. I really don't make a habit of speeding, the HD is a more comfortable ride below 110. Its just there so I know where the cops are so i are not stressing out about paying too much tax. I'm always a bit concerned about missing a 50 sign and getting pinged for it and getting picked up going a bit fast while passing. It's just there for my peace of mind.
The unit velcro's onto the bike behind the screen and I can hear the std unit without any mods at the speeds I travel.
I have had 2 speeding tickets over the last 30 years, both minor, both on a Triumph Trophy 1200 I had a few years ago.
I got the unit because it seemed like a good idea at the time. I dont think it has saved me from any or many tickets. It's just nice to know and kind of fun to work out where the cops are working.
