Was it icy/really slippery or ok to ride on. I'd love to go overin the snow but didn't think It'd be possible to stay upright.

    No problem at all.
Mostly just a wet track with some boggy slick clay bits and a few icy bits but no problems even with my bald rear tyre.
You're only riding on the snow at the summit.

Are you trying to make a back tire last as long as one of your oil changes??

    YouTube time

Testing my new helmetcam mount up the Maungatapu.
It was pointed a little lower than I'd have liked but the sound has no induced vibration this time and what little audio there is actually came out(ish).

What setting was it on Nordie?
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

This time it was on 640x480@30fps and exported at 320x240@25fps
I'm trying different codecs for encoding and if you change the embed code for the clip to 320x265 it's much clearer.

Next time it's going to be a test at 320x240@30fps and see the difference.

I don't like only 1 hour of footage available at 640x480.

    Cool.
Yea, only one hour means you have to be pretty selective of what you film, to bad if you've just filmed something, turn the corner and WOW! Damn, outta memory.

I like the "loop" feature of some of the recorders.
Always recording and when you press the button it saves the last 3min (customizable) onto the card.
It's much easier to press a button after something cool than before

    IRC GP110 rear

Cycletreads bunged on an IRC GP110 rear yesterday.
Looking at the tread and thinking about it, I like some of the things they've done with it.

An almost solid centre bead but only about 1cm wide.
Wider spaced knobs as you're just leaned over a bit and then closer spacing when you lean over to the edge.
The knob edge is tapered to a wider base so there should be no tearing.

    Impressions...
I havn't fallen off in the 10km so far.

The carcass of the TW42 is much thicker than the E-07.
In the centre of the tread on the 07 you could almost feel your own fingerprints it was so thin and compliant whereas the 42 is much thicker and stiffer.
I think that compliance is one reason the 07 gripped so well even when bald.

    Saturdays ride...

Loop from Nelson over to Mapua and over to Murch, St Arnaud etc via the seal, dirt, gravel and snow

I need another little camera. I missed sooo many shots on this ride...

    Oh, heated grips too...

    Nope, no dust at all.

    E-09's on the GS.
The rear looks quite nice but the front looks to be more off road biased than the rear.
I'd match the rear up with something more like an IRC GP21 or TKC80 to give a bit more confidence in the front on the seal.
