Why is it some weeks things flow along nicely, then within a day or two you realise you've several things happening all at once.
Bloody multi tasking is not in my vocabulary.
Never mind, it will all get sorted
Hauturu rd slip might be the new "cross farm experience" i have been looking for.
Will do some homework today, and get back to you lot.

So I gave the Waitomo district council a call regarding Hauturu rd, and to get a bit of feedback with regards to farm tracks etc.
I let Justin, (the roading engineer) know that I have seen the slip on Fri, and that we hoped to use a track to complete a loop.
Justin sais he was out there this morning, and that the slump had slithered another 70mtrs south from where it was Fri (I get the feeling that the hill ain't too stable)
The road will be closed at both ends, and some serious earth works over the next 6months are required.
However, I shall contact the farmer and see if we can use one of his farm tracks (if it's safe) to access the other side of the slip.
There is a shit load more rain coming on Wens, so I'm getting the feeling that a reconsideration of the route is needed........maybe

Accomodation pretty full in Kawhia, the first 2 places I tried are booked for all of August but we found a room at the pub. "Sorted"

Sweet. Thats only a 5min ride from the bach, don't book meals there etc. You can even leave the bike at the bach and one of us can drop you back there in Kanny's car. (she plans on being a lady of leisure at the bach, and skip the rides, so is driving out).

Yeah,yeah, I know i should be giving you lot some definite details by now, (and it will happen this weekend i promise), but since the weather is average tomorrow, and there's a carton of Grolsh in the beer fridge, then I plan to retire the cerebral cells for the night, and relax.
