List it as a classified. NO questions to answer, cheaper than an auction to list, free relists.
Why CanT u say that u have found a fault with the bike, therfore cant not sell it as it was fasly advertised. Re list on KB for sale forum c if u can sell it that way

    Just put up a sellers comment along the line of;

I have make a genuine mistake on my listing - the reserve has been accidentally set below my acceptable minimum. I apologise to all bidders and watchers as I will remove this auction and re-list. Again I apologise for the incorrect price but I am not giving this bike away.

    Then remove the auction.

I'm pretty sure the comment will remain on the old auction when viewed.

Relist and state that you have relisted due to making a genuine mistake with the reserve.

You may get a pippy warning e-mail from Trademe but shit man its your ride so don't give it away.
Expect a few questions from prospective sellers and just answer honestly.

Maybe because that would not be true?

It is genuinely for sale as far as I am aware, there is an error with the reserve in the current auction, good and reasonable grounds to withdraw the auction. This bike has been for sale for a while now, KB has been advised.

    Why lie about it?

Withdraw the auction, it's simple as. Trademe will ask you to send a generic statement to those watching, and bidding. Tell them the truth.

Easy as, HARDEN THE FUCK UP!

Email address, maybe, but not IP address. IP addresses are not always static - sometimes dynamically assigned, depending on ISP

Also, I have a static IP address, shared between the household, all with their own trademe accounts. 5 of 'em, all up.

This is why I suggested getting some advice

    Just withdraw the auction.

    You won't be banned.

They will only look at doing that if you are a habitual auction killer.

Otherwise, get someone to put a horrendous auto-bid on the auction, and suck up the success fees when the auction ends.

I like this - a practical renegade approach. Worst case scenario - you get a bad feedback.

    Cool

    Withdraw auction.
State as reason: Mistake done, reserve was set far too low. Sorry to all bidders.
    Start again.
    Nothing will happen. Nothing.

Just remove the bids over the low reserve, then reset the price. You shouldnt have to even cancel the auction. I would put a new comment on the end explaining why the bids were removed and to invite the previous bidders to re-bid (incase they thought you removed their bids due to poor history)
