Anyone got one? Im thinking of getting one just want to ask a few questions.

Why did you chose the 750 over the 1000

Why the 2008 model

What if any modifications have you made to it and why.

But the real question i want to know is

they said they stiffened up the front forks, does this make wheelies easier?

I owned a 2005 Z750-great bike. And yeah they are a bit soft and buzzy for hard riding. I test rode both the 1000 and 750, the thou IMHO was not going to be any faster on the road for the most part, the resulting savings would buy an awful lot of extras for suspension and brakes-the motor had enough torque and top end.
Fucken great bike, the only draw back was a lack of wind protection [same as any naked!] and an uncomfortable seat that forces your balls forward into the tank [both easy/cheap fixes]. It would wheelie easily and was a hoot through traffic.

Take one for a ride and see for yourself, I believe the seat is a lot better but the suspension is still a little soft, but who knows you might love it!
09 features are little unchanged except for the paint which is two tone.

The 2008's suspension is worse than the previous model's. It's harsh and soft at the same time. It is heavier than the previous model and is 4hp down. The power to weight ratio makes for noticeably slower acceleration. The brakes are wooden and have no power or bite (thought that may have just been the one I rode). The finish is better than earlier models and the dash is better too.

My modified Z750S is a much better bike than the 2008 Z750 in every way.

You'd be better off with a Bandit 650 or GSX650F.

Or even an ER6.

ER6, Street triple, 695 Monster............If your pocket stretches the new cb1000r looks the trick [for a Honda!]....some of the Buells are damn cool...
No shortage of choice bro'....If you are ready to buy come up with a short list, read all the reports and take them for a test ride [no ride-no buy].

i loved the z1000.......but the fazer was cheaper.
z750 was fun, but i wanted a bike that i could cruise doing 2,500 - 750 wasn't so stable down there.

Fork springs - stock ones dive precipitously, swapped with .95 kg Traxxion Dynamics ones.
Braided brake lines, one to each caliper - more power. Stock lines are squishy and more wooden than the braided ones.
EBC scintered pads - stock ones don't work in the wet.
DNA Air Filter - better mid range breathing.
Ohlins rear shock - the stock one is terrible at anything over nana speed
Metal Gear front discs. - stock one warped at 10,000km.
WFO bar end mirrors - stock ones are useless. You can't see anything in them. Well you can, but I'm sick of dividing by 17 to guess how many cops are following me.

Those are the majors.

Another vote for the ER6 (......F?), quick, nimble and killer in the corners. Some new bars, mirror extensions, givi setup, screen and EBC HH Sintered brakes has pretty much made my bike how I would ride it forever (bar hard seat). Only thing else I would do would be fork emulators.

I have a Z1000 in my sights later in the future.. have heard only good things about them, but like James Deuce, have heard only bad things about the later model Z750's

How fast/slow is the er6n? I do like the look of them, and it is a kawasaki, so im definatly going to test ride them!

ive got an 07
bought it cos it was cheap , and didnt want to loose my licence like i was going to on my zx10r or my life , I've had a large range of bike, bus, gsxr's zx 's etc and quite like it as its ezy ro ride, i can wheelie it of the throttle, the sup is not to flash but hadn't played with it yet, fitted a pipe and tail tidy to it, It's good to ride around town and tuff work in the 180- 200km stuff due to no fairing, there's no diffrence to the 08-07 other than frame colour and colour selection. and they arnt that common so you don't see them everywhere you go.

Yeah mate that was me

I went from a CBR1100XX to an ER6F and I could feel the speed drop (who wouldn't) but after a few days, I got used to the ptwin torque and found that the ER6's range was amazingly manageable. It tops out at about 230 - 240, would take a lot of road to get from 220 - 240 but before that it gets there suprisingly fast. If I'm trying to do a quick get away from the lights or over taking from a car in the open road I often find myself doing 140 and cruising, it's so easy to bring it to power and it has a mid-high range that still pulls in the lower gears.

Around town is is a DREAM, especially when you score a green turn light at intersections, it just goes on rails around any corner, is amazingly light and can get lighter with a few mods!

Mirrors are a BIG problem, being tall and long armed I couldn't see beyond my elbows once I put my Renthals on so I had to fork out $85 for some OEM extensions, problem solved though. Work a treat.

Brakes aren't the best, I replaced them with EBC brakes and there is much better feel and stopping power.

The bars are love/hate, I was so used to my aggressive sport bikes like the ZZR1100, CBR1100 so I got the streetfighter bars and felt a lot better with them, though I could still love the bike with stock, nothing wrong with them IMO!

Seat is ROCK, FUCKING, HARD. Seriously, it's the worst seat ever. I'm just dealing with it but coming from a rider.co.nz, I seriously felt it!

I'll have to leave with a quote again of a review of the bike earlier in KiwiRider because it rings so true about the bike and how I felt when I bought my CBR1100XX.

"Ego might convince us to buy something faster, but that's a shame because this is a real bike, for real roads, and for real people who want to ride all the time, in a variety of conditions."
