Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. (John 15:13)
Thanks man, looking forward to some riding! I've been hanging out for one for ages! Both bikes need repairs sadly so will have to wait till early October. BMW first so if you hear something that sounds like a helicopter coming at you, that'll probably be me (no baffles, you see)
As for changing rosters, I'm self employed so if I don't work, I don't ride, eat or pay rent. In that order
But once the Beemers back up and running, I can use that to get to work so rides a-plenty! Woop!

anyone keen to do spark plugs?
im also gonna do an oil change and oil filter change.
maybe coolant too
Going to miss out on this week, have a good night all.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

i think wayne has one, and a magnet on a telescopic rod.
Hi Spuds. The Kat has a dodgy bearing I think. There's a grumbling I can hear since changing the oil.
My mechanic recons (just over the phone) that it'd propbably be the bearing that looks after the front sprocket. The Whatchyamacallit bearing
It's a case cracker and was quoted about $650 as it could be up to about 10 hours of work apparently.
That was the cheapest rough quote for the problem I got from about 4 different places.
Given that $650 is about $670 more than I currently have I think I'll leave it for a while and focus on the R80 which just has carb problems (too rich I think, splutters under slight load, not under full - uses different jets?).
Anyhoo, thanks for the offer, do you have any ideas?
Cheers![]()
Alas no sorry man, my knowledge is pretty poor at the mo. I've good at pulling things apart with a hammer tho, if you need some one to do that ...
I've seen oil changes done and reckon I could do one myself now but spark plugs are not something I've had great success with.
I should be there tonight and am happy to help out. Will be a bit late though, prob 7ish.
Maybe next week got family over from oz, could do with a beer tho. I like watching everyone work and all I do is talk and have a beer at the end.![]()
Can't make it tonight... Have a test tomorrow morning. But I'll be along next week!
Would have liked to come tonight, however bike is yet in pieces.
Think this time I might have had something some people would have been interested in - using a multimeter to measure resitances and voltages for doing the wiring of the bike (fault finding) and adding new electrical parts to the bike.
However.. if anyone is interested let me know. I'm no electro guru but I know a bit. You can drop by my place and look at the electrical loom I have out, and some of the wiring diagrams.
Hope you had a good time. I'm soused.
