No nothing, hell if I listened to my mates I would not be on a Harley, some of them went right off when I rode up on the bike.

So today, I did a wee survey while out riding... I waved to every bike that I rode past without fail... I initiated the wave in all but one where we both acknowledged each other simultaneously.

I passed 4 Sportsbikes, 1 Cruiser, a lovely looking BMW Tourer pulling out from St Pats College (simultaneous acknowledgement) and 2 scooters.

With the exception of the BMW rider, I recieved a wave back from the Cruiser and... 1 Sportsbike rider... the rest just continued on their way without any form of acknowledgement... no wave, no nod, nothing.

I can forgive the scooter riders - they probly didnt believe I was waving at them in the first place. However, for a group of people who apparently wave at everyone and who are the 'poor ignored victims' in this pathetic ongoing debate... I find it odd that 3 out of 4 Sports riders failed to return the gesture.

Im sure that I will be told this is due to a long history of unfounded ingoration on the part of Cruiser riders and that it is somehow OUR fault but I am doubtful that is a plausible excuse. More likely to be a preconception that because I ride a Cruiser, I am a wanker and therefore not worthy of acknowledgement.

I will continue to test these waters

I must say I have been pleasently surprised at the amount of reciprical waves I have received from bad ass Harley riders (even those in Churman Nazi Style Helmets & SS face masks)

Is it 'cos I ride a bike from a company that powered bf 109s or what????
