Bike was fine this morning but now...

Oh bum.....
Don't panic, there's still a few good rides left in it before the oil gets on the brake disc.![]()

you seem to have stumbled upon what modern trials bike manuacturers have been doing for years. results are better manouvering of the bike throug foot input and the bike commingup under power with less effort and more control!
And sportsbike manufacturers are raising the footpegs to create more leverage to lean the bike.
But I guess comfort comes first, and a big strapping lad like Nordie needs the legroom more than he needs assistance tipping the bike, eh?

The bike was easier to flick around when the pegs were higher partly because I was attached to the bike closer to the centre of mass and partly because I had shaped the seat to suit me for that riding style.
Now I find I don't have the room to let the bike move under me as much (I hate gripping with my knees) and need to trim the sides of the seat 2.5cm or so each side for an additional 10cm or so back keeping it narrower for longer.
Blasted out the crud from the fork seal with brakecleaner and ran a feeler gauge around it and there's no extra leakage yet after a run through Pig Valley/Wairoa Gorge.
Snow hunting up the Maungatapu...
Bled the brakes today (yay for fast bleeder valves) the front was fine but the back (never done) was black.
I'd set the compression damping to max when I put the stronger springs in and had a think about it today and set it to minimum to see what happens.
The front Golden Boy SR244 has done 17200km now and has another couple of thousand in it.
I've got the new fork seals but they're not in yet.
That rear calliper will be full of that black shite. Time for a rebuild, otherwise you'll be up for a new piston and seals... or more likely a trip to the wreckers for a good used one. (Bleeding is designed to clear air bubbles at the top, it won't lift the black muck out of the bottom of the piston.)
You could try a couple of partial bleeds (bit more than the piston volume) after getting it hot and bouncing it around to agitate the crap sitting in the piston. With your speed bleeders it won't be a big job to do once or twice to see what comes out.
