The simple fact is that many cruisers are not suitable for our roads. They are designed for interstate and motorway style roadways. It's one of the reason's, not the only one, I bought a Guzzi instead of a Harley. They have a higher clearance than most other cruisers.

have riden both sport bikes and now cruisers, must be my age, but do so love the cruisers.

i recently changed my footpegs for some pretty shiny ones, turns out they are a little bit shorter than the stock ones by about 10 mm but i can get the bike over a lot more before the foot starts to scrape, dont want to scrape the new pegs they to pretty

    Hi there,
yep welcome to world of cruising on shadows, round abouts and slow turns are not for cruisers, you cant go into corners as if your shadow is a crotch rocket
kept getting my heels worn down (only on roundabouts), fitted iso-wings, but have to be careful not to wear them down, they dont have the nibs that stock footrests have. Getting better at not leaning the bike so far over, that mini footplates scrape.

I test rode a shadow up scenic drive last week..

Can't say I was overly happy.

I'm a pretty aggresive cruiser rider, (Like to go as fast as the sporties), and I was scraping pegs on nearly every corner.. till it sunk in that this bike only had 300k's on the clock and I should probably slow it down.

If I ever were to get a shadow, I'd have the bring the pegs forward and up a bit, highway pegs like.

Your the last one to be on a cruiser mate, you just don't get what they are about. Mabey one day you will 'get it' ...... if those useless crotch rockets don't deal to you first.

best cure for bikes scrapping is 2" over forks

improves clearance and high speed stability

never could understand this current trend for short stubby forks
