Just an update, he got his left wrist/hand operated on yesterday for about 4 hrs or something. I think they put pins or plates in his hands. Iv heard that hes doing better today, hes still in the high dependency unit tho, and only allowed two visitors at a time. I am going to see him today and will let u know how hes doing after that. Im going to show him this thread on my laptop so he'll be able to read all your well wishes, im sure that will brighten his day

Well i have been up to see dad (warr), he was pretty sleepy but doing a lot better than last time i saw him. He was sitting in a chair for a bit this morning, and they are going to move him to a ward either today or tomorrow i think. He has pins in his left hand now, and at some stage they are going to put a metal rod along his right arm and screw that into his bone to keep that wrist healing straight. So for anyone that wants to visit, i wud say wait a few more days so that hes not so tired and stuff. I read him some of the stuff that you guys have written and he had a bit of a laugh and appreciates all the well wishes. So thanx for all of that and i will keep u posted.

It's good to hear of his progress.
He'll have to stay away from x-ray machines, metal detectors, hadron colliders, and large magnets.
Or are they rebuilding him better than he was before, with lots of race-spec titanium? That could be bad, as he'd have to buy a race bike.

Tell him to heal well, and if he doesn't pay attention, give him the bash from all us concerned folks at KB.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

    Ouch, ouch and ouch!
Sorry to hear of Warrens off - not nice - but at least he's mendable.
Still have visions of Warren on the XJ sitting calm and virtually upright, in the middle of a bunch of sportybikes who were at all the racey angles in the middle of a corner, and giving away nothing in terms of cornering speed or control.......
    Get well soon,cobber!

Mate, from what we saw on the weekend he's going to glow in the dark. They were almost following his bed around with a portable X ray machine.

Don't know you Warren, but this sounds like one nasty accident.
Get well soon mate, and hope it all works out OK for you.
I see these dudes getting all banged up doing high sides on the MotoGP track
But its a different thing on the tough gravels of NZ roads
Hope it hasn't put you off getting back on a bike again

The last time I saw Warren he was very quickly and smoothly leaving me behind somewhere just west of Hamilton

wait it was at the Chartwell mall I was telling him I had another bike and wanted to go for a ride.

Although I don't know many people who have been riding for a long time he's the fastest rider I know and without the ego of people half as fast as him.

All the best with your recovery Warren, I'll pay a visit in a few days.

He has been moved to ward 2, room 10. Hes doing heaps better, so id say go hard on the visiting. Still only allowed 2 visitors at a time tho, but im not sure how much they enforce that.

i always like riding with him because we ride at the same pace, but its all just fun and games, nothing serious or egotistical

always a nice guy to ride with, thats for sure.

Went up to see Warr this arvo in Ward2 and was pleased to see plenty of life in the old boy

He was actually on his feet yesterday too moving down the corridor at snails pace which is bloody impressive, no doubt the morphine pump was helping with mobility. Fed him some of the banter from the forum posts which seemed to be well received.

To add insult to injury though and as if he isnt in enough discomfort the bloody plumbers are busy right next door to his room whacking away with a jack-hammer Had a laugh about that at Warr's expense.

Basically I was impressed by how well he appeared to be taking things. On the road to recovery I suspect. Dont bother taking too much reading material in if you go for a visit coz his fingers and writsts wont be up to much page turning. Maybe we could put in some $$ for a pretty nurse to sit beside him reading him some bed-time stories
