Lucky you! We live in a house owned by a bank. We pay them "rent" at an exorbitant rate.

And even though we threw $100,000 into the purchase ourselves the bank still retains 100% of the title

    I hate the mortgage system.

Maybe I should rephrase that...bank owns majority share of house....and we will be paying through our teeth for the next 25 years

We don't own a house and live in an old inner city flat...

Seriously - congrats! I was just being a moaning faced old git (which I often do to get a rise out of people!) It is a nice feeling when you finally move into a house that's not rented. I'm looking forward to the day when I pay the last installment of the mortgage.

Ah. Well, you won't have any time for riding your bike now, your wife is already working on a "little list" (it's a hormonal thing, all women do it).

I'll take care of it for you, wouldn't want it seizing up through disuse . Just mail me the keys and collection address.

Good for you , you are on the property ladder & that is what counts , at least you are not faced with 24% interest , wife & three kids at home like I had , bit over 20 years & a couple of houses later , the mortgage is gone & money in the bank .

I'm sorry Les, I'm afraid your gargre is too full already. However, there's still room in mine and I'm only 60kms away in Upper Hutt. And my wife has given up on her list after 5 years of inaction.

My history in looking after KBers bikes is impeccable. Contact Frosty for references.

And congrats on the house and finally moving to the North Island Bren.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

The joys of buying eh,you screw the vendor for a deal, meanwhile the purchaser screws you as well.
Ours is due for settlement next Friday, will look to buying in new year, scary to think prices to fall by 25%(if just bought say in Jan-Feb),we made money on purchase but should have made extra $10-15000,but with tenants the house wasn't presented as good as we had it.And the bloody agents say blah, blah will put it on at $$$,then after a while they say YOU may have to drop the price, wtf we asked you guys to place realistic figure.
Enjoy the shift will look forward to the meeting/piss up.

If the property market keeps going the way its going, i might let my son move back in, then lend him the coin to buy himself a place with a granny flat for me lol

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
