    Re Q in #1

I have moved in circles where touching/sitting on someone else's bike was an offence that got you beaten. Badly!

And I fully support that view.

Would you open the door of someones car and jump in for a test sit down?

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Funny that, I have moved in circles where it would get you stabbed without notice. But such people don't blow smoke up their own arses on public forums.

    No fuckers touch my bike...

Beside, I (always) lock my bike tightly to a pole so unless you can move a mountain, dare try....

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

    and the bike mover speaks

IF i parked like an asshat, between having my bike towed or having it moved, i'd have it moved

and of course, in this case having it towed would open the doors to have other bikes towed, which in the context of the situation at uni is a Bad Thing

also, i am somewhat experienced in moving bikes, AND i got 5 guys to help, some of which were friends of the owner of the bike

so from my point of view, there was sufficient notice, due care taken and it was a better result than having some towie fuck the bike over and charge him for it

BUT, if someone that i do not know is fucking with my bike for no good reason, in a way that has potential to cause harm, they've got about 5 seconds to either sufficiently explain, leave very quickly, or show some boobs. ironically, running will probably mean i'll chase you in case you've nicked something off it.

yes - the one time i backed my car into a parked holden i actually went door knocking to find the owner. cost me $1500 but glad i got it sorted instead of just driving off. would've been nice of them to not be dicks about it though; my uncle panelbeater quoted the job at half what their panelbeater did. 1500 was a lot of money for a 16 year old

and yes - i'm a big fan of the "do unto others..." mentality

that really works me up too - parents letting their kids run about without owning up for any of the damage caused

i'm hoping having an alarm on my bike will discourage such events

I've long thought the SMC attitude w.r.t. moving bikes is a bit ghey.

I know I own a big piece of dog turd, but I'd still appreciate somebody leaving a note or sending me a txt before we start moving my bike. And I reckon there were more, er, `diplomatic' channels we could've used on that GT250R retard first, despite him being thick as pig shit.

ive never actually caught anyone doing that. odd, cos kids seem to love my bike. you stick my bike between a couple of sprotsbikes, and they almost always head towards mine. lol. course, maybe exposed exhaust pipes have something to do with kids not sitting.

Or more likely because they think they have a better chance of reaching the seat height on it?

Just applying logic here, nevermind me...

If my bike was laying on its side spirting life blood then it'd be really nice if someone would pick it up.
