Not at all , you've just misread it - The R6 engine develops it's power very late and that combined with the binary clutch makes it a pain in traffic.

And as a result you can't cane it quite so hard. In my opinion (based on too many reviews to count) the CBR is the best blend of usable mid and top end power for street and track. Looking forward to checking it out for myself though.

If you only ever ride on the road then I'd concede the drop in HP could well be worth it.

Well that's subjective. You might as well say the triple is a crap sounding twin in that case

Reality is they're all so close that it really comes down to which one your body fits best and which one you like the look/price of.

    Have you ridden the CBR?

That's a bit of a silly argument... short of axing a cylinder off the Triumph, there's no way it's going to sounds as good as a vtwin. And round and round we go.

????? Who mentioned v twins? The suggestion was that putting a slip-on on a CBR would make it sound like a Daytona.

Actually... I don't think anyone said anything about making the CBR sound like a Daytona, I'm pretty sure discotex meant putting a slip-on will make it sound better. Better =/= "like a Daytona".

Anyway, congrats on the new bike! I'm looking for a bike myself now...

No, it was that it would make it sound as good as... which is subjective. One could argue that it would make it sound as bad as a 675...

Yep exactly what I was meaning. Stock the CBR sounds pretty tame but it can be improved markedly with a slip-on. As for what people like.. Well each to their own

    Lookin good. Enjoy

Make sure you stretch her legs during the break in period. Don't do drag starts and wheelies and especially don't labour the engine. Also don't stick at one RPM for too long but do use all the RPM (just don't get there under full throttle).

Well, I've done 300k in 3 days so the break in period shouldn't be much more then a week. I think I can handle a week without wheelies

Nice... I like the red and black. Looks like mine but without the battle scars

Seriously the more you ride it the more you'll enjoy it. Plus take it to the track and see why it's in world SS.
