Since you mention it, I remember you telling me that, but I have to confess that I had forgotten.

    See, that's what I can't figure out.
If it's lower than when we were there because it's tidal, then how come the downstream "step" isn't showing? Surely that only disappears when the tide backs it up and raises the level.
    What am I missing here?
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

When the tide backs up it will fill in the step, if its high enough tide, period.

The 'flow' is a seperate issue. There could be no flow and still the tide could fill in to the causeway......picture the Manakau where you drive over it each day....there is no flow in at that point, but still high tide will fill up to whatever the high tide mark is at that point, right?

The pix just seemed to show a much lower river than we saw...admittedly its taken from the Oenpelli side, but the depth guages should match each other?

C U tonite, remember the key is in the Barbie, beer is in the fridge, help urself to the spa, and DON'T fiddle with my new intercom/cb system....I almost know where everything goes now > don't muck it up!

The screen is a Screens for Bikes item (Victoria/Australia)

All I can get for screens for Bikes is a phone number. Do they have a web site? This is the best looking screen for a DR650 I have seen so keen to get 1 ASAP. Any help would be great. Do you have the make/model number ? , Thanks

    Kev,try emailing Peter at screensforbikes@gmail.com

It is simply his DR650 screen (no part number) mine is the dark one, there is a lighter one but i went with dark to give the GPS a little protection from the sun.
    Cheers

The level gauge in the pic is around the 500mm mark.
I went across at what might have been 400mm.
1.Remembering if you drop the bike in the middle no one is going to help you.
    2. Do you really want to be attracting attention to yourself out in the middle.
3.If you did end up going off the step (floating) you more than likely would be attacked by a croc,i live by a episode of the Two Ronnies where they said "Death can be Fatal"
Two weeks after that pic,the front page of the NT news had a shot of two big crocs fighting at the same spot.

Snake Creek (before Adelaide River) WWII buildings.

Tortilla Flats, either side of the crossing looked like the moon.

The only thing i have read on ADV is some of the taller riders (over 6' have varying results, screens in general perhaps)
Being a shorty (5'/8"/9") the screen seems to line up with my Arai XD3's peek nicely angle wise so it seems to work well even at the 130 kmh speed limit.

I imagine it will be a case of playing with the angle and see what happens. what I like about the screen is the width and the tint. Some just look to big and bulky so don't suit the bike. I commute every day rain or shine so a bit of protection from the weather would be good as well.

Not a croc to be seen but managed 875kms today, the rear D606 lasted around 4600 kms (It might have 150/200 kms left in it but will replace this week unless someone has better suggestions)

The two Ronnies might recognize Jim Jim Road on the return leg.
