A serious question for you Paul.
You've already stated that if you die riding your bike it will all be worth it because you've experienced riding in "the zone".
But what if you don't die in the accident? What if you suffer major brain trauma and survive in a vegetative state and you have to have your wife spoon feed you baby food and wipe your arse every time you have a shit - for the rest of your life?
Would "the zone" be worth that?
Do you think your wife would think it's worth it?
Sometimes there's worse things than dying.
Excellent video!
Good work. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, but not all his consequence. Real freedom comes from no one causing any of us consequences, but unfortunately the reverse must also be true, unless you have a gun then you can do as you please.
I'm a little surprised - I've seen 230 indicated on my 650. I backed off coz there were corners with shaded wet patches and it felt wrong. It'll take a little longer to get there than that 1400 I'm sure.
I haven't been on a bike for two weeks, coz I was doing exactly this (pushing hard in the corners) and I stacked it. I have a sore ankle and a sore calf muscle, but I can hobble around without crutches. Lucky? Very very very very lucky. Nasty lesson learned. Bent tank and swingarm, and two broken plastics - thats it.. How lucky? Yup, very.
Three other bikers were "having fun" out there this last week, and now their families are crying. Crying like they never knew they could.
Have fun but be careful out there, your family wants you back.
So yeah awesome video but I found it quite scary. Its almost certainly just me.

DON'T feed the troll....
Nice vid...
Paul wasn't actually pushing anything in that video, though. I won't argue this objectively; I just know from personal experience on the same bike and from riding with him that nothing 'hard out' was filmed there.
Perhaps one of us should put up a trackday video taken on a GSX1400 to show yous fullas what they can really do.
Good job admitting this straight up, so just this once I won't take the piss out of you; I'll just point out that you crashed because you fucked up and rode outside of your own ability to control your bike. Done the same thing myself.
You can now:
(a) accept that your riding skills are not up to the way you want to ride, and just fit your activities around that, or
(b) learn to ride your bike in a safe environment.
I prescribe (b), which means MOAR TRACKDAYS.
Yes, I know that James Deuce will be along shortly to holler 'JUST SLOW DOWN!', but the problem is, folks, that skill is no substitute for attitude, and neither is attitude a substitute for skill.
One without the other might make you think you're safe on a motorcycle... right up until the day you realise that it's not enough.
Yes, by all means, be safety-conscious and leave your ego at home, but for God's sake, people, learn to fucking ride as well. The 'I'm so safe and responsible' flavour of egotism seen in the folk who would mock the 'trackdays uber alles' camp is all very well and good, right up until they find themselves heading wide in a corner without any ability to turn in further...

i lolled even more.. he's on my ignore list and i saw it in your quote, this really is therapeutic ! Shirley it's a tad early for April fools day ??!
When have YOU ever .. EVER seen Paul riding at Pace..??! ('personal experience') you haven't cos you get left behind ('from riding with him'). THEREFORE.. how can you say he's safe?!
and when .. im lawling again, have you ever done anything near what a GSX1400 can do ('one of us') .. never mind show someone else a video of you making them 'go'. ('what they can really do.')
lastly.. you're thelast person to be telling 'others' to ride properly.. those in glass houses and all that malarkey.
im still lawling...![]()
That'd be the last time I went out on a ride with him, eh?
My powers have grown, young padawan.
Unfortunately for you, the fact that I'm a mouthy opinionated cunt who tends to be loudly and frustratingly right about everything doesn't mean I'm doomed to spend my life riding slowly. Gosh, won't you shit your daks if I ever actually win a race?
You sound like an angry wee man who needs to go out for a ride, bro. How've you been, anyway?

lol.. you turn everything round, i'm not angry, im pissing myself with laughter. The fact you cant keep up with Paul when he turns up the wick is enough to assume you've never seen him riding at pace; therefore, for the 20 seconds that you seem of him, whilst he disappears around the next bend into the sunset, isn't really adequate time , i'd suggest, for you to comment whether he's safe or not.. wouldn't you agree ( don't worry, i know the answer already! )
As for your powers have grown and winning races, i'll buy you a fookin gsx1400 if you win clubmans.. how does that sound? If you don't.. you give your gsx1400 to charity...??!
Troll? Naw I'm just a little spooked about moving through corners quickly atm. Its just me. But do remember your family - I nearly left my family crying. I had to apologise to them, and my friends. Irresponsible.
Eh? Mine will effortlessly do 203km/hr anywhere except up a steep hill in top gear. I have heard their top speed quoted as 155mph (= 250kph).
Thank you. Perhaps you have found it amusing, but much of your rudeness has been really upsetting.
Yup. I'll probably just do (a) for now until I get my nerve back, bearing in mind if I start trying (b) on the fucking road again I'll back off and get on the track, like I should have done to begin with.
Nuff thread hijacking. As you were. Nice video!

You're trying to take me down a peg, dude, because you don't like people who are full of themselves.
That's understandable.
I'm still right about all that shit, though.
You reckon hey?
That's not a bad bet. Presumably any PMCC or VMCC race over the next 12 months will qualify?
(You might need some time to save up for the bike and explain your rash decision to the missus...)
You're all talk, though, so I doubt you'd pay up.
