With me a pleasant - if not slow ride is assured. I have no point to prove and as Hitcher once said, finishing last means you've had the longest ride which isn't a bad thing.

    >snigger< nope. How's that supposed to work then - you're going to bring a flask of distilled Rossi and give everyone a few drops before we head off?

Anyway, it's hard carrying corner speed when one is hard on the anchors coming into the corner. And one has to fang down the straights because one went through the corners so slowly. D'ah!

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Ah thats better

    Well I enjoyed that!
Nice little cruise over the hill to the Tin Hutt. Good to catch up with some familiar faces and meet some new ones. 20 or so bikes I guess.
Its my 1st ride over the hill since Dr Bob (Robert Taylor) has weaved his magic on the springy bits of my trusty steed and what a difference!
And Jim you will be happy to know the ride there was incident free and all well behaved.
May there be may more Wednesday evenings like today.
May the road rise up to meet you.

    Ohlins FTW.

So what you're saying is that there aren't any issues if I don't turn up?

    Can't have that.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Well not quite. Andrey and I were the last people to leave the Tin Hutt. As I had Gemma on the back he dissapeared into the distance. Half way up a group of bikes shot past me (Non Kiwibikers, apparently theyd been over in Martinborough).

Got to about 2 ks from the top and there were rocks all over the road and a guy lying on his back on the left shoulder of the road. No sign of his bike other than the fence being down about 1-1200m ahead of him.

Appears he lost it on or shortly after the gentle right hander at which point he's gone into the rockface and the bike and him have tumbled down the road with him stopping alot earlier luckily.

Luckily he was mostly ok. We stopped him from moving till the Ambulance turned up but he could move everything and feel everything. Only thing was he seemed very confused and kept repeating himself, combination of a bash on the head and shock id imagine. Cant imagine there being any long term damage though.

Get well soon James, whoever you are.

    Shit!
Well I stopped atFeatherston and you guys went past me and I passed you back just before the bottom of the hill. Andrey was still ahead I thought another guys was turning around at the bridge to head back to Welly. Ended uop 3 of us starting the climb and the 2 other bikes passed a vehicle and by the time I got passed they were well off in the distance. Once I reached the summitt a bike that I thought was Andrey was pulling in at the carpark to wait for you guys. I didnt see another group of bikes at all.

Oh well it aint you Jim!

Glad you were there to help & the rider is a survivor & we all made it home. Nice moon ride home too

Yeah I got to the top of the hill to wait for Bullitt, but he never came past so I decided to go back down and investigate. By the time I got down to the accident the guy was already being taken care of, so I got to direct some traffic.
The wind picked up quite a bit by the time we got to leave so I was scooting home, nice and slow.
