    Thumbs down

Great bike! Just remember that if the gear lever shaft snaps BM here won't help u despite they do in other countries ... it will only cost u about NZ$1500 and in my case over a month without the bike ... not even give a 1% discount

BTW it doesn't take much at all for it to happen and there has been a few bikes out there with the problem

Other than that nice bike and very nice price ...

    Cheers,
    Pampa

If it was that much time down, and the large tag, could you not comission a tool maker/ engineer to make say, 20, to supply the local market, and earn a few qiud at the same time.
Never seen the shaft so cant tell myself.

I could... but since in my opinion (and many others) it could have been warranty item (they did it for free in UK and US i found through ADVRider) or at least BM to pay partially the cost so that's why I drop it on the dealer ... remember that it was the shaft not the lever that broke u need to open the engine in order to replace it

Again it rides nicely, very fuel efficient, has lots of power, nice looking. I wouldn't have thought that a bike that is advertised as an enduro bike would brake that easily and I ride like a 'granny'

    Cheers,
    Pampa

Bad luck if you payed 17k for one and want to sell it in the near future. Makes the SuzukiFest not that bad after all.

+1 on the engine I have a F650GS Dakar 82500K on the clock and is going strong no major problems (water pump replaced few K ago).

There is a lot of info out there as well

Yep, they'd be good value at 13K. Makes the KTM 690 Enduro look even more expensive now though. I bet KTM NZ were looking at the X-Ch when they set the crazy 17K price on the 690.

Are you talking about the Rotax engine or the BMW atrocity on the later model?

isn't the 690 still a significantly better bike in just about every way?? (up there with KLR's even)

The pathetic enduro tank size is the real killer with the BMW - its almost like they did it deliberately to stop it stealing sales from the GS range.
