To be clear, I am all for his message. I'd send my learner kid along to hear his lessons, but I doubt said kid would choose to go back. Hey if he did want to go back, do you think I would be happy about it? Of course I would.

I'm 40 and a bit now, and I am interested in all sorts of things, but I am not remotely interested in any of them being righteously and repeatedly shoved up my arse - even the really interesting ones.

My message is not dissimilar - just themed slightly different. "Go have fun, but don't get yourself killed. Remember you have a family, and that they are going to cry when you are dead, so sharpen up! Now fuck off and learn to wheelie."

A bit skewed - I'd go along with you on that if he said he indulged in booze and/or the weed then jumped on his bike (or behind the wheel of his car for that matter). But the inference from your post is anyone with a safety message would therefore never drink, never take medication which might affect their concentration etc. It's quite different to do those things when you're not about to take charge of a potential lethal weapon. (No Mel Gibson and Danny Glover jokes!!!) Katman's message is to do with safe motorcycle practice, not "don't drink, don't do drugs".
