I suspect that I am the southernmost Auckland resident and only about 100 m off the motorway.
I was wondering if any of the others wanted to assmble chez bass for the trip down to the Kopu pub. I was contemplating a slightly devious route which could take in e.g. the Hunua gorge and the coast road through Kaiaua.
Hi Bass, I'd be keen on meeting up for a group ride to Kopu. Time & Place? Autobahn perhaps?

Yep, all those on the calender list are being catered for, Catered is a loose term Think Paula's gonna make me take a salad!!

If there are any special requests food wise let me know otherwise it i'll be burgers n snags all the way. (YES, and salad Paula!)

There is a slim chance those of us with rods may catch a fish but from what i've heard pickings have been slim so far. I will be giving it a go Friday but I'm not counting my ummm chickens...........

Will be plenty of refreshments just hope the ice lasts.........

    Gents,
The middle of my back tyre is getting down a bit while the sides still have plenty of tread. This is just one reason why I am going to scoot down the coast through Kaiaua on Saturday morning. I was going to include the Hunua gorge and Monument Rd, but the road gangs have been out and there is fresh, unswept seal right through the gorge at least and so I will give that part a miss.
Crisis has indicated he would like to go the same way (if he is able to go at all, which is a bit uncertain at the moment).
If you want to go the twisty route with us, then please do.
If so, then the Autobarn is past all the appropriate turnoffs, but getting off the motorway at Papakura takes you right past my front gate.
    So, over to you.
Wanna do the coast, PM me and I'll send you an address and phone number.
Wanna stick to the main drag, I'll see you at Kopu.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

    This is all sounding awesome!!

Will get my tent out tomorrow night and make sure everything is there.

Will be riding up on Friday to Thames with Phil and Dawn.

See you all at Kopu (not that I have any idea, at the moment, where that is) on Saturday morning!

Are breakfast beverages and/or hot water included in the catering arrangements? Or do I need to bring the cooker and coffee machine?

I presume I am signed up for the greasy cooked breakfast
The road to hell is paved...
