An interesting route with plenty of twisty bits. Has the bonus of easily being extended, either to Diamond Harbour or to Duvauchelles etc. Lots of options for routes home.

    Ideal Re-group Points:
    1. Top of Dyers in the Sign of the Kiwi carpark.
    2. Top of Evans in lookout
Is this a definite for tonight? I leave from Sumner so meeting up at the top of Evans Pass would be cool...

Shoot me, but I dont quite get how understanding gyroscopic effects aids confidence in taking one hand off the bars? If the front takes a good knock the rear wheel gyroscopic effect wont alone save you...
Fair enough. I'll stick with Code, it's no big deal.

    I lol'd

My carbs seem to be playing up... again... again... *sigh*

I swear the only way I'm going to fix this is by buying genuine factory-new carbs and installing them myself (if you want a job done right etc...). I get like 120k to a tank atm, haha. Main problem being I don't know how to do that (yet).

We got a little held up as there was a small accident.

Seems like the bikes more broken than the rider, but its a bitch that it happened tonight.

Make sure you guys are riding safely, within your ability and the conditions and keep things shiney side up.

    Cheers

Glad rider is ok, as such it seems safe to say inquiring minds want to know detail, where, how? Quickly before I start jumping to the obvious conclusions.

Seems hard to get that message across.

That's one of those things that seems to happen when the group stops being a group shortly after departure.
As was pointed out in earlier posts by others -
Newcomers (and others I guess) kind of need to be sure of the route or hook up with someone to follow who will make sure they turn where needed. All made more difficult with riders going to different destinations. You just don't know who to follow anymore and just can't follow just any rider on the chance they are going the same place you are..

I'm a bit bummed I had to work, it looked so nice outside.

    spidey sense.

saved me also tonight....think I might slow down for this corner and tighten earlier....just as well I did there's a dead possum in my usual line.

hope the down rider is doing ok.

    Saddened by this

On so many levels this has taken the pleasant way I like to spend my Wednesday nights and taken the shine off of it.

People this is not a race, the destination will still have hot chips and cold beer when you get there, first or last, (well one hopes and if they have neither we wont be back), if you want to test your skills and ability's there are open days at the track, go there, none of the roads we use are closed to other traffic, or for that matter livestock, ride them as if around each bend there could be something on the road.

These are the Wednesday Evening Cruise rides as the thread title suggests take that to heart, as was pointed out the local constabulary are well aware of KB and if they feel this ride is becoming a danger they will do their best to shut it down, also as was pointed out they will should the need arise point fingers at the folks who attempt to herd cats and possibly prosecute them, a bit unfair really if folks cant heed the warnings.

Slow the f$%k down, ride within your ability not to the max of it, and consider the newer riders when you pass them.

BTW if anyone wants to take umbrage at what I have said I don't give a rats , and will be happy to discuss it with them outside of this thread.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

Where about 800 meters before the 50 Kph sigh for Governors bay on the right hand bend, as to what happened I cant say, I did not see the event just the carnage.
