A cop trolling passing lanes for speeding tickets deserves the inevitable verbal abuse he's going to get. Considering the huge minority of clueless drivers in this part of the country who drive at 90-95km/h on normal roads and 100-105km/h on passing lanes, you quickly learn to either (a) speed up to get past them on the passing lane or (b) get used to spending the next few dozen km stuck behind them at 90.

Why turn around when you've only had one lager ?
FINE. This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

They're usually pretty lenient in that they'll let you get away if it's within 14 days of expiry, especially if you're on your way to get the tyre or the WOF.

or is it 'until ASSUMED guilty'? because I turned around I was instantly proving my own guilt? So the police become judge, jury, and EXECUTIONER on the side of the road huh?
When I blew in to his device it came back ok.
Imagine if he had run over one of those little kids on the side of the road....and for what?? a guy on a bike who was merely turning around to avoid the checkpoint because he hates talking to police due to prior bad experiences, and was sober anyway....
If he assumed you were guilty surely he would have slammed you to the ground and slapped some cuffs on you?

The reality is you blew a 'failed youth' which means you had been drinking a fair bit could have been close to or marginally over the adult limit and certainly weren't sober which would have been why you turned and tried to avoid it. In many other countries our youth limit is only slightly less than their
    adult limit.

Anyone riding half way pissed on a motorbike is a complete and utter tool, its bad enough in a car the degree of impairment. Had you been sober you might not have made such a silly decision and made yourself look like such a idiot on here either.

I'd say you're full of it. If turning back the way you came is less hassle than talking to the cops you have an issue.

I don't want drunk twats on the road threatening me or mine, and if they're wearing a KB patch then that's good - I get to abuse them in a public forum.

It's NOT an issue unless you've made it an issue my riding while over the limit.

I must not drive/ride in the right places. I am yet to be pulled over.. ever..
I did try for a couple of months to get everyone to text me when they found a check point but it never worked.. by the time I got there they were gone.
One morning a couple of years ago around 2am I was driving a mate home from a nightclub and drove through a check point and the cheeky furrballs just waved me through.
I look dangerous dammit. I could be drunk or high or something. Seriously I dont look that innocent. I even have a tattoo or two..
I think I am like the only person left in New Zealand to have never have been breath tested. I feel left out.

Back on topic. I always feel 'naughty' when I see the cops. They make me nervous. (bad youth..long story) I have often considered that I might do a U turn if the car was unwarrented or something. (I dont drive even if I have only had 1 drink) but after reading the OP I have decided that its a bad idea at best. If a little child was hurt by the cop car or me I would feel responsible.
I wouldn’t be broke if the voices in my head paid rent

    You are an idiot.

No-one's going to be drunk on a Tuesday, especially while it's still light enough to stand around with a sign.

Blackshear would've been getting thumbs up for saving people from the stupid $200 no wof/reg fines.

Not to mention the disqualified drivers. I think it's going a bit far to say noone's going to be drunk on a Tuesday, I'm pretty sure many people have been drunk on Tuesdays in the past.

So it's all good to have the people with no brakes on the road that kill the next rider? Especially the people with no rego so you can't track them after the hit and run?

I'd rather the cops get them off the road, wouldn't you?

You're saying no-one has ever drunk driven on a Tuesday night? Get back to me when you have a decent argument

So those in unsafe vehicles should be allowed to stay on the roads with the drunks? Yeah - good point.
