    Nothing bad happened...

    Well.
I went out for a wee pootle this morning - about 6.30am.
    Sun was shining. Brightly.
No wind. Still as a dead frog.
No fog. Air was clear as gin.
Got out on the highway (SH3). Almost no traffic.
Travelled South to Te Awamutu. Didn't meet a single loony driver. Not a LEO to be seen.
    Turned East to Cambridge.
Again, almost no traffic, no loonies. Didn't hit a single hole in the road. Didn't overcook a single corner.
Through Cambridge and East towards Morrinsville. Same deal...
So what the hell is going on? Has the world ended? Maybe I am the only one left alive?...ahhh no - there is a car coming...actually keeping left, not causing me a moment's anxiety. Damn. Something weird is going down here. It's all too perfect - there must be a disaster about to happen!!!!
But no. Nothing bad happened at all...weird man, weird.........

    But....wheres the important stuff?

Like, did you wave to anyone?

And if so did they wave back?

I will await your reply, as it really really matters.

On that note, is there an offical KB wave?
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

Oh well yeah actually I did wave back to some dude....
I just thought it bizarre, after reading all the bad things here on KB, that I had an uneventful ride...
although there was one "twang" moment near the end when I came round a corner to find the roundabout a lot closer than I remembered.....

Just to put some balance back in the Universe, I had the best ride of my life yesterday not even marred by...

The cattle truck I met on a tight right hander, on the gravel, half way in my lane.

    The runaway dog.

    Two escaped Bullocks

And the potholed gravel road that went on for about 50 spiggin Ks.

However, I did see a naked lady in the river, two peeps getting it on in a motor and two bikers who acknowledged my wave.

    All good in the Cosmos.

The cops seem to be busy elsewhere (can we hope they are targeting drink drivers?) as I did 900km without a single one (yes, it was overnight, not exactly the premium time for them) until I got back to the outskirts of Auckland.

Now just think, if you slow down even more, the odds of anything happen will lessen even more!!! (unless you're dmntd... then the odds increase exponentially)

So - just a question. What is the deal with the wave? Why do bikers wave?

Out of respect, out of comradeship - out of the small community feeling where people kind of recognise the others within that community.

It's also a politeness thing in my opinion. I nod or salute everyone on two wheels, except scooters (unless she is wearing heels, and in which case, anyone that skillfull gets a nod), or some Harleys (the ones who look like accountants and can't ride), and I don't wave to the Moron Few.

Because people who know they are inferior are trying to demand acknowledgement from cool bastards like myself.

They can't comprehend that it takes more then just buying a bike to join the ranks of the elite. Credibility can't be bought. (unless what you bought is Harley branded clothing from a Harley Davidson dealership, and you drank Harley coffee from a Harley Davidson coffee cup at the same time)

    Thats why I don't wave.

I swear it is the came before the storm, and when the storm hits, I am usually in the bloody middle of it.

    Ride safely this Christmas.

I don't suppose she'll still be there SF.

Have you any idea how hard it is to stay upright on a gravel road at 60k when every core of your being is going, look at her ya twat, look, now before she reaches her towel, looook!!!

Bloomin hard, that's how hard but enough about my state of arousal.

This matter was settled by god (aka spankme) sometime back.
    Please try to keep up.
