    so did you vote other?

the xl125, experience tells us, can have overheating problems on the beach and doesn't have the power to keep on top of the soft sand if you try to get into the dunes

the yz250F depends on if the old man is coming - and i might mention that your srv is perfectly capable for this so i might leave it for those moar in need

Would be keen for this ride if only I was not in the south island that weekend.

Have fun, look forward to seeing your photos.
I have done a bit of a rip along the northern part of the beach up near Rimmer road (down from the sandpit), which could also be a good spot to start the ride, it would provide a nice gravel based intro before you hit the beach.

while i havn't been to the bike park since it moved, the last time i saw the rimmer road entrance it was whooped up - extremely difficult for a road bike

it's in the tubes, but i will say that my own bike will be one of the first to run dry being a big bore motox rather than an enduro/trail bike

The last time I saw the Rimmer Road beach access it would not have been practical for a road bike and dubious for a street 4wd.

you sure? Youre too badass for this ride bro, bring the gpz1100 with the bent forks and warped disks. that way itll be a challenge for ya.

Hmmm ill have to see how much trail tires will cost for the srv. Good thing she hasnt been cleaned in ages, if that road is gonna be problematic shell prolly get dirty.

I took that entrance when I took the cruiser down a couple of years ago, whooped up, yes. Difficult, yes, but not impossible.
