I also believe that around the time of the tragic accident where 3 riders died there was a lot of discussion on the TV about motorcycles and riders. My non-riding family members are often mentioning to me about someone they have observed riding carelessly.

There are many here who agree with what you are saying. Unfortunately there are just as many who think you're talking a load of shite. Their only comeback is "nothing happened, so what's the problem?" These are the ones who are oh-so-terribly-sorry, condolences to the families-at least they died happy doing what they love etc. when it all turns to custard. Yet they can't see that every time "nothing happened" when someone rides putting others at stupid risks it only reinforces these people's sense of their own bulletproof magnificence. I mean, if you get away with something often enough then surely it must be ok to do......??????

The WAY some people ride their bikes can be problematical but, if someone meets the legal requirements for what they WEAR - its their choice.

If they get messed up then its their problem only, and it's not like wearing 1 piece A-stars and a $900 Shoei reduces the impact they make in a crash so it wouldn't affect you any differently if you were involved in a crash with them.

Yea that's unfortunate but its only that... Unfortunate. At the end of the day its the riders life that gets fucked up if the bin without gear, its just not so pretty for the bystanders. Id rather watch someone skined on the road then be the one in hospital dying of the infections because they were wearing a singlet on their gsxr... But that didn't happen anyway...
