Motorad have gone from 'it should be ready on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest' to 'it might not be ready this week'

Do they not see that there is a link between service and future sales?

the greenie has the good tires and all my adv riding gear is stuck in one of their customer lockers.

at least I've got my trail riding gear so I can still have some fun

Sounds like you need to take a ride in there then to get your gear and get them to swap the rims over FOC seeing as they haven't got it done when they said they would.

Mark bad news the engine work is behind schedule, but it's probably better to just grit your teeth rather than upsetting the bike shop! After all you do have another 3 bikes to choose from

If required I can pick up your gear from Motorad tomorrow & bring it out to Upper Hutt.
Eddie I'm still keen for a ride & both suggestions sound good. However I have a Tourance tyre on the rear so may be lacking in grip, but it will be dry so let's try. I can do either day so why not Friday?

I could possibly be conned into Friday afternoon though I was originally thinking of Sunday
I need to bleed brakes and things before I go though so need at least Friday morning for that.

Maintenance never goes to plan & Sunday's OK for me.
I'm keen for another ride because i'm going to miss the South Coast Adv ride next weekend. Does anyone want to do a ride thru Karapoti on Friday or Saturday, we can start either side?

Andy I may be able to do Saturday in Karapoti. I have my permit now BUT have never been in there before so have no idea where to go apart from the Council leaflet map!!!

At some point, probs Monday or Tuesday daytime I am going to buzz over the Rimus and down to Ocean Beach and onto the 4wd track heading west to check the trail on the DOC land east of Orongorongo Station - if you remember at one point the track was collapsing badly and it was a helluva drop down to the rocks - thought I might do a reccie for the SC ADV ride to make sure the track is still passable - hate for us all to get thru Orongorongo and then hit an impassable slip!!!

Thanks for the kind offer but my gear is in a locked locker for which I've got the key.

If it was Tuesday I might be able to tie it in with picking my KLR from motorad - be a good run in and test for it.

Dave, I was last in Karapoti 25 years ago, has it changed ? Yes, there's a ***** big road bridge over the first 2 streams off Akatarawa Rd. At least we will start with dry boots and if we stick to the main track we'll be OK. Plus you have the map

How's 10am Saturday at Rimutex?

It's been suggested to me to go early so to minimise meeting any crazy quads on the Karapoti gorge track. I will be riding out from Wellington so how's 9:30 at either Rimutex or Brown Owl shops?

Eddie, what time on Sunday is good for you? I am at Miramar, Wgtn. There is also a high probability Pete will join us with his Tiger at UHutt.
