If you start winning on it you may also have to satisfy questions on competition pengine parts and the like.
The one on the polini site there doesn't look like 20anything horsepower.
A Local here takes a thumpstar out for a play sometimes, it has a full competition 150 in it and it is nutty fast.
I have no doubt at that end of it they prob make great power.
I'm not complaining, just making observations.

If someone complains that it is technically a competition engine then it isn't legal but no one will care to do anything about it unless you piss everyone off by winning - is what i think they're trying to say

If this statement is correct, I refer you to Chapter 24 of the MNZ rule book, rule 24-2-4

"Engines must be derived from non-competition motorcycles. Motocross, Road Racing, Enduro and Go Kart motors and transmission parts are not permitted. There shall be no restriction on the make, type or design of carburettor, ignition, exhaust, piston, cam, valve springs or cooling system except for class eligibility. All engines must be normally aspirated except F4 4 stroke engines of less than 100cc capacity, which may be turbo or supercharged.

F4 2 stroke engines over 104cc are restricted to carburation equivalent to a single 24mm carburettor, F5 4 stroke engines over 53cc are restricted to carburation equivalent to a single 20mm carburettor."

Im not one to rain on someones parade and kill there enthusiasm, and I now Mt welly can be pretty lax on some rules but the one above is there for good reason.

And it really depends were you are measuring the HP figure from. Never heard of an FXR with anything close to that at the wheel.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

My FXR has 17.5hp it has a carb and exhaust but otherwise standard. It is still one of the fastest bikes out there. (When I am not riding it). 25hp is lots. Its all riding anyway. I am sure you will see the light after racing a bit. I used to race scooters.

No offence intended, but this seems like a bit of a weird statement

It woukd make more financial sense to start on a CB125t buying one bike rather than two
