Apparently it's around the 2002 models black motors.
When the black crackle paint was applied the crankcase at the factory, the so-called factory workers never properly cleaned off the paint overruns onto the mating surfaces and put the gaskets straight on.
From memory it was at the front cover.
A wee while later, the gasket blows and bye-bye oil.
Anyway here's a link that may partially explain. I got told this by a Guzzi dealer.
