very interesting indeed... but it was really comparing apples with apples on steroids with flavour enhancers. i mean, a 4-5k difference is rather significant in that price range. Might as well spend 1-2k retuning it and then it'd be comparable. AND still looking better...
talking about retuning. Anyone looking at doing that rejetting job?
I had a brief look at doing some mods, 331kit, rejet, new exhaust system etc, but looked at the cost of that, which was something around the 2-4k mark and being it would not increase the resale value by much decided against it, hence my klx is now for sale.
I guess if you love the KLX and it is the perfect bike for you, then might be a good ideal.

hmmmm.... 2-4k? where was that at? Planning on doing a lot of the work myself, taking it in for the parts that I get to and realise "crap... what does this bit do?"
Think I've got my system sorted atm, got the klx for commuting and trails, and a bigger project bike shared with a mate, so I can go on tours/rides and keep up (once the project bike is actually moving - still waiting for parts!).
$5500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's a total steal at that price!
I have just under 5000kms and although I have put Barkbusters, bars and Ventura Rack on mine; it DOES have some war wounds(side panel scratches!) from adventure riding and I've been offered $6000 for mine! I would think yours is worth at least $6500 considering the higher price on a new one these days!
Cheers, Dave

Have dropped it back to $5500ono, as I would prefer a quick sale.
Tricky to sell to a dealer in these harsh financial times.
As a trade in it is not worth quite that much (well the offer I was given), so I would prefer a quick sale rather than trade in, for both the extra money, and I would rather see someone enjoy the bike, than go to the dealer even if the price was the same, so go on make me an offer anyone who is interested.
