unless its really dry some tires with knobs are a big help - lots of slippery clay 4wd tracks.
Cheers Mark, appreciate that mate; its one place I definitely want to go check out!

did a twiglight run tonight over the Pram track tonight - Paraparumu to Upper Hutt - taking the long way home from work - the ascent up out of Dopers had far more rocky surfaces exposed that last time I was through there about 3 weeks ago

Dunno to be perfectly honest. Tried going up it once. Not a shit show. Would like to have a go down. Would have to be very dry in there though. Just a small amount of rain, and the rock turns to soapy clay. The Rock Garden on the other side of the gully is also a challenge. Almost spent the night in there once, (not by choice).

Went today for a quick run to the Karapoti and aftter the rain was very slippery but nice a little bit of overcast over the top put the tire pressure really low 16psi on both tires. The first stream crossing is now quite good, last time I went it was pretty gnarly

There were quite a few trail riders but nobody can keep up with my snail pace ... and no mad quads thanks god

    Cheers,

I would say the Horowhenua Club rides are pretty sedate.

The Waiouru Tussock Buster ride is pretty hard out but still has areas for intermediate riders as there are multiple tracks and small loops for advanced and extreme riders added on to them.

Looks like trail rides to me. There's one every weekend around here, which is probably the reason I went to adventure riding. Fighting over a 1 metre wide piece of farm track with 400 other riders wears thin real quick. Everyone wants to be a Crusty.

Hum yeah I don't like that , specially cause I'm at the right opposite end of the 'crusty' scale . Just due to the lack of skills experience and will to risk my neck doing something stupid I should have learnt many years ago ...

Nowithstanding that I'd like to do trail rides and learn

    Cheers,
    Pampa
