Only slightly. It was verging on coming off the ground or just had when I backed off, it would have came up more if Id held it.

Even when I take off in a hurry Im not using full revs, at full throttle the gap on the rev counter between 8 and 9 k looks very small Not that another thousand revs would put me anywhere near you two

Its easy for me, the bike gets to around 120 in first so I know when I hit the limiter I am going too fast and need to back of

I need to learn how to launch properly though. Doug was beating me in the first 10 meters and I was only hauling him in once I hit the power band.

Well I did show up but then I dropped off my pillion (who now knows I am a wiggle bum) ... and then went to dinner with Str8 and koba before the support group I am going to at the moment ... was great to try taking a pillion and to know I can!!! Thanks for trusting me gurlracer!!!

Hey everyone, great ride last night. For some of us it was a great blast around western lake. Good fun and definitely cleared out the pipes, most enjoyable, although definitely one of the longest wednesday night cruises ive done. Wellington -> Featherston -> Western Lake Rd -> Martinborough -> Greytown -> Martinborough -> Featherson -> Wellington.

There seems to be a bit of talk of the summer night rides comming to an end. Surely this cant be. I will definitely be continuing this for quite a few months, and it would be great if many others did too. Although there is less light available for the trip, it is still always a good excuse to clear off the dust that begins to collect and come out for a bit of a cruise.

On another note, we found out that the BP in Martinborough has an after hours easy pay system so you can fill up if you find yourself in the poo and realise that nothing is open. Handy information to know. Would be cool to see more of these around in the further out parts of the country where everyone goes home at normal times lol.

This time last year there was talk both ways about them carrying on or not. The first week after daylight savings I put up a post saying I didnty care about the dark and Id go anyway. I was the only one who turned up so I didnt try again.

AFAIK they stopped completley for 5 odd months or whatever non daylight saving time is. Hopefully they wont this time but it wouldnt surprise me in the slightest.

Well, I have nothing better to do Wednesday night so I'll keep coming as long as the weather holds out.

I'm keen on carrying on with the evening rides as long as possible. Daylight savings ends on 5 April this year so there are still 5 Wednesday's between now and then.

Good ride back none the less. Doug and myself had a bit of fun off the lights
somebody could have told me...I had just fallen into a pot hole, the tank smashed me in the privates and so with one hand on my balls and the other on the throttle I look in my mirrors thinking "why are you buggers all the way back there?"...look forwards... ohhh shit.... you're going in front next time andrey...

yea, I always practised on the bandit so im used to launching the high revving inline 4 engine. could definitely tell your bike had more power though, guess thats what you get considering its 6 years younger!

Ive found this happens every year....its hard to let the Wed nite ride go so each year a small group carry on for a few weeks, but once you get a crappy night or two weather-wise most give up for the season.

And then the cruisey Sunday morning rides kick in...
Experience......something you get just after you needed it
