Oh we BOTH know how lucky we are that we can share this interest and we are both pretty independant too so give each other the space to enjoy it alone also...HELL I even let him use my bike - even though he rides it way faster and can do wheelies (which I can't) how's that for giving?!

I do have to admit that I don't take all the technical enginey stuff in fully all the time but he knows that and loves me anyway

This is not a male gender issue. I have made a decision that after my last two relationships the next one must ride....

because I found that although I didnt mean for it to happen I rode less and as a consequence got grumpy irratated and argumentive and lost apart of myself. Looking back I NEED to ride and although he didnt make me not ride. It happened over time. He was not to blame and I see that lack of riding affected me as a person and made me feel something was missing, which affected us, our relationship and my lifestyle. I only see that now

Also riding is a big part of my life, I need someone to understand. I want to camp on bikes travel on bikes go to rallys on bikes and talk about bikes. This can not be done with a nonrider.

I beleive its good for people to have differences but things that you are passionate must be shared or you have experiences that take you away from each other cause you cant share or slowly you lose that passion.

I guess its different for everyone and depends on what you get from your bike if its a time out, alone thing someone who doesnt ride is perfect.

So I have made a conscious decision that my next relationship must include:
    BIKES

So I feel you and understand.
At least you relaized this is important to you before you wasted alot of years!

OMG YES! I gave up riding when I got knocked up, couldn't afford to keep paying off my bike on one wage and I didn't want to risk having an accident while preggers. I know

Anyway I didn't get back on until early last year (almost 5 years later) I had flicked a switch in my brain that I wasn't going to be riding for a while and that was just the way it was...while in this 'state' I even wondered whether I would ever get back on again...thought I would have lost the knack completely and that it wouldn't come back.

Then I got back into it and it was only then that I realised just how much of myself I had been denying by not riding and how passionate I am about riding bikes...I feel like I got myself back - sounds corny but that is the only way I can describe what it felt like and I didn't even really know it before I stopped I don't think! Now I would never sell my bike - I will always want to have it in the garage so whenever I want I can throw my leg over it and go for a cruize.
