Mrs. B decided to give it a go last year. I'm a returning rider from many years back. I knew she'd like it.... and she loves riding. We now just need to go shopping for a bike that is hers (ie. now she has some experience, to ride a bike she feels comfortable on). The VTR250 seat is shite for longer trips.

Anyway, I think females who like bikes also don't mind gettting their hair wet, don't mind camping in a tent, happy to have a beer with the boys and talk crap like we do. Yes - they can dress up and look pretty, but they also have some life skills, can rough it and have strong personalities (ie. have been through or can endure some shit).

My experience too!! You have a small chance to strike it lucky and find someone who is not in to bikes but it still functions well. But by having her on her own bike and swinging a spanner in the garage together with you is a match made in heaven.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Chix like all things - its just how they are introduced to them. If they get a fright that will be the end of that.

A year ago my wife wasn't interested in bikes, now she has her own pride and joy, and rides it like a legend, and wouldn't give it up for anything.

well, that's your philosophy, For my wifes maiden voyage I took her straight to a gravel road that was all corners that came back on themselves and wound its way up a wickedly steep hill, then when we hit the main road I gave it hell until she freaked out.

Then I pulled up and told her if she ever done that again she would be off the bike and walking home.

Worked a treat. She knew what to expect and it was all plain sailing after that.

    Ditto.

Riding motorcycles is "ME" time. I am very happy to have US time in our relationship too - but without enough ME time the US time becomes rather less enjoyable, she recognises and respects this fact. I think I'd be willing to give up just about anything for her, but not at her request if that makes sense. It's not hard to find a woman who is beautiful, intelligent or tolerant - but getting all three in one package is incredibly rare.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

    Not yet .

She loved it, But she has a low threshold for...uh...freaking out, so knowing her as well as I do I ensured we got over that hump immediately.

Softly softly approach would have ended up with us getting run over by a bus.

And today I wonder what was wrong with me, why did I not stipulate that anyone settling with me had to like/ride bikes.

Why do we think that we can live with someone who does not share that love for bikes?

Or am I just deluded here?
I guess I was just lucky or did I just shop in the right place. It's never been an issue! John

Same here, in fact he is the commuter so rides more than me. He regularly says how uncertain he is then gets on and rides me like a deamon - and he is like that on a bike also !!

Can't wait to upgrade him - his bike I mean ...
