Just checked there are 635 post with "wave" and "Harley" in them

I'm thinking that there must be something to this conspiracy.

A brilliant idea! Why has no-one ever thought of this?

I followed one such on the Toy Run yesterday...he waved by slipping the clutch and screaming the engine up to max revs...did it all the way from Cambridge to Hammertron...
Oh and a Harley rider waved to me this morning - BEFORE I waved to him...!!!!

Did you get his plate by any chance?, The brotherhood will need to hear of this. Action must be taken. The code must remain unbroken.

Now I ride my own HOG and I certainly acknowledge every other rider I encounter. In fact if the truth is to be Known I Quite often get ignored by sport bike riders. So is this a myth, or is it a projection to someone elses inadequacies?
I experience the same thing; many sports bike riders ignore my wave or nod but sometimes I might be too busy to wave or nod to another rider or simply forget/can't be arsed etc. I know HD riders are said (usually by sports bike riders) to be snobs but I've found it to be the reverse. I have also found that those who choose to wear German-style helmets and face-masks are usually unwilling to wave or nod. Too tough to be sociable I suppose. Their choice, I don't lose any sleep over it either way.

    Blah

Auckland riders often nod instead of waving, and it's sometimes almost imperceptible. I tend to be a nodder. Had one guy on the northwestern m\way stick his hand in the air and wave wildly, jeez he looked like he was in need of a few friends! My ratio of nods to being nodded or waved back to would be about 60\40. Hardly ever get replies from Harley guys but then again today two Jappers didn't either, who cares?
Oh and if you were on a Guzzi on the southern motorway and wondered why a V-Max was tailgating you for so long - your missus sure has got a nice butt!

It should be noted that this is not a new idea and is probably in the merged waving thread somewhere.

This idea keeps getting mentioned but nothing ever comes of it.

Seems like a good idea until you think about it: What can you do with a wave to make it distinctive? A salute off your helmet, or pointing to the ground or straight up? There's not many alternatives and the only way its ever going to happen is for someone to have KB'ers vote by posting a poll but even then most KB'ers probably don't give a stuff about a special KB wave. For that matter, I have only seen one bike with a KB sticker; most KB'ers don't seem to give a crap about promoting KB away from the computer.

Same here - the German helmet I-wanna-look-tough riders don't wave or nod. In January I spent over two weeks touring the N and S Islands, clocking up nearly 6,000 km and during that time I did a loose survey of who waves/nods. Most cruisers do not, especially Harleys, so now I don't bother with them unless they wave/nod first. Most but not all sport bikes nod/wave. The most enthusiastic wave was from a GN250 rider on the S Island - say what you want about GN's but some of those guys sure enjoy riding!

:slap: Dear Bonez and Radar, please accept the following message as a short lesson in recognising sarcasm... (not that I want to teach you to suck )

See tanks post... notice the sarcasm dripping from each word, now see my post... see its full of sarcasm to 'back up' Tanks sarcasm...?

Also notice that were neither of us new members so chances are we are very aware of previous 'waving' threads and have both chosen to reply to this thread with the demeanour it deserves... obviously a little too subtle...?

OH! and by the way... the REAL reason Tank is my hero is because of his profile pic...
