I kinda hear what you are saying but it's a bit like drag racing. Are street cars the premier class in drag racing 'cos there's lots of 'em? Nup, ask anyone and they'll say it's the top fuellers, even though there's bugger all of 'em at any given meet.

Nothing against the guys on 600's but if you are any good then you'll want to race the biggest baddest bikes around. By taking away the best/fastest bikes we diminish our sport and give any potential talent fuck all chance of progressing overseas.

The thing is, it's any easy fix! We can have lots of big bikes and we can have good racing....we've just gotta fix the cross entry rules.

The other classes easiy put on just as good a show as the superbikes and quite often one that's even better

That'd be the marshalls on the quads then

Though it would be cool to have the trikes at club races........we'd all end up with 2 lap races..........soo many classes

Pretty sure its called the actrix 'superbike' championship.... Maybe they could change it to the actrix commuterbike championship as thats the bikes that seem to make up the numbers....

If your reading this and you dont ride a superbike, why do you choose not to? Serious question, not being smart but is it cost or track time or skill level?

Surely we don't wanna get in the F1 versus the world discussion.

All race classes are fun, and they can all be equally exciting. Let's face it, a field of 25 Superbikes, first 8-10 all banging fairings and going sick for a full 15-20 laps is just as entertaining as Motards.

I think the reason that Superbike is (rightly or wrongly) regarded as the "premier"" class, is that being the fastest, heaviest and most powerfull bike out there, they're also the most challenging to attempt to master. Probably the most dangerous too.

Im happy to answer that honestly, for me its probably a combo of things, money yes as its very expensive not just running costs but actual bike costs to get it competitive, suspensions pipes engine work (yall know the drill) for me its about personal sack size, Im not really wanting to push a bike hard at 300 kmph, I actually dont think I would enjoy it as much prolly shit myself a hell of alot more than I do on a 50.2 hp bike, and frankly not keen on damaging the temple to much.

I think I can ride a bike okay so as to not come last and I from experience I know Im not to bad on a bad arse bike either but given the above I dont think I need to pursue it.

The last thing is just good ole fun, I raced in F3 two years ago, had a off took ten weeks off work to recover etc and in that time I went to a VMCC meet and I happened to observe the fun factor in the racers of all classes, for me (hey I said ME) it seemed that alot of the sports bike guys seemed so damn tense and freckin serious (remember this is about me and what I want in racing) and I looked at the motard boys and frankly any more chilled out the would be asleep, coming back in laughing their arses off (on this particular occasion anyway) I said to me self , yup sold thats me Im into it........and here I am now havin a blast on a cheap bike with cheap costs (fark havent needed to change me tyres since round one of the tri series incl two trackdays the fuckers still have heaps of life in em)with some great people to race against.

But again this is my head space we all want different shite and have different goals, I mean yourself Sloanne you are incredibly talented and have a future in this sport, Im in it for shits n giggles and to hang out with me mates whilst hopefully not embarassing myself.

All three, there's a very good reason I'm not allowed to steer the sidecar

I really have no inclination to race Superbikes although I've raced in a few different classes, the only class I'd consider riding a "big bike" in is Pre82

I dear say should I ever get back into racing a bike on two wheels, it'll probably be Retards or Pro Twins. The pressure I put upon myself on the big bike quickly meant it stopped being fun and more of a job.

Right on bro.................its all fun, and no one should be put down for getting on track
My bike was my roadbike and a litre bike is the only bike I've ridden apart from a 250....................................I might've gone another way if I'd realised how much coin I'd need.

To be honest id ride every class if i could! No shit i actually would, except sidecars, you guys are crazy and i dont really trust anyone that much!

If i wasnt on F1 or F2 bike id be on a motard for sure.

Superbikes dont have to be expensive guys actually theres no diff in a club superbike to a club 600 or even sv650 for that matter

    Motards son Motards......k

And after the 28th I plan on your smile being so fucking huge you will come to the dark side......for I am your father........(SLAP sorry )

Um anyway, mate a highly skilled rider like you will in my opinion be a freckin natural on a Motard and definately a top feild contender, and if it needs further encouragement you can race a round on my bike for free.

    there ya go !

Lol. Appreciate the offer "Dad' but I'm envisaging there wont be a hell of alot more motivation needed after a lap or two.

Convincing the missus that a Motard's the action could be a different story.
