I looked around a bit and ended up getting an R1 - for the simple fact that an R1 goes for around the same price as an R6. It is a huge step up going straight to an R1 - and as was mentioned, my sanity is probably a bit off
Yeah man, that is a MONSTER jump! I'm glad you are still alive!

I recently got an R6 at the end of last year. Been on one decent ride and apart from that has been collecting dust. Just got it going again (needed some oil and petrol so nothing wrong with it) and start using it for commuting. I understand what you mean by the other vehicles seeming like they are standing still, it just seems like you are going heaps slower than what you are. Heaps of power and nice and light, love it.

Got to get out some more now though...

Hope you get what you want.

I've got a VFR and even that leaves me feeling a bit sore around my wrists after a serious (Akld -> Palmie) ride. Maybe i'm just a nana, but having given some sport 600's a test, I think that if you were looking at doing serious K's on the bike you'd end up feeling a bit worse for wear and the 'feel good in the twisties' factor would wear off after 90kms of boring SH1.

If you're just kicking it around town, or taking it for a blat on a weekend/thursday avo fill your boots. It's the kinda bike i'd get if I wasn't doing big rides!

Who the hell stays on sh1 for 90 k's.... plenty of twisty backroads!

What!!!??? I didn't notice that Burgmann so I guess I am stuck with the R6

It does not just do wheelies, it does burnouts and endos...

Honestly, the thing scares me. I am just easing into it and scrubbing the tires, etc... That thing is so good that I don't think I will ever be able to use it to it's full potential.
