I’ve been thinking about heading up the Mangahao Dams behind Shannon again. How about a ride starting in Shannon for a change riding up the Dams (about 1.5-2 hours return allowing for photo stops), then up the Pahiatua Track, and turn off for North Range road / Hall Block Road. Then Lunch somewhere, and possibly up Whariti Peak before heading south via the back roads of the Wairarapa?? Stay the western side of SH2 till just south of Eketahuna. I’m thinking about doing this the weekend after next on the Sunday 5th April. Is anyone interested in a ride up that way? By the way I think daylight savings ends on the Saturday so we all get an extra hour in bed Saturday night.

I might be up for that now i have a bike that can handle longer days better - will check kiddie duty calendar and see what I can sort! Be fun to head up to some new stuff I haven't been on before!

darn too many rides not enough time - I'm riding to the Central Plateau that weekend to the BMWOR 'Rag' Rally - rough as guts - I plan on tenting and riding as much gravel coming to and from - may be able to link with you all at Shannon ish on the way back on the Sunday - prolly come down the Whangaehu Valley - Ciao Aslan
