Assuming there are no differences between the NZ and AUS versions......they are a great bike. I learnt on a '00 VTR250. It was very, very hard to let her go when I came off licence restrictions and upgraded. Had a little cry that day, even though there was a brand new '04 CBR600 F4i in the garage instead. Didn't have a single problem with the VTR the 9 months I had it. And the workshop manager where I got it serviced couldn't talk more highly of them. For a 250 they aren't entirely gutless either yet the power they do have is very forgiving on a learner.
Great bikes, can't fault 'em if serviced regularly. I had one for a year on my learners/restricted. Only downside was that when I actually did need parts they were more expensive than for the Ducati.
In space, no one can smell your fart.
My Partner learned to ride on a VTR, I actually like taking it out for a fang!!we had no troubles with ours at all 99 with around 24000Km's, It just went and went, Typical Honda![]()
