Just thought I'd post a comment from a hot-rod forum:
"On the way back to Whiritoa from Whanga on Sunday arvo, some dick on a jap bike decided to jam himself between us and Waikato willies r/p,coming down the 35 km/h curly bits to the one way bridge just before Whiritoa, braking for the curves and have some flogger stuff a bike in the hole, also braking, does not make a pretty sight,if I had taken him out,it would have been messy, front bumper on the truck is near 3mm thick. And they say we give bike riders a raw deal? insert Tui ad here... "

I am with the writhing gentleman.
It seems to me that the original post could, with entire justice be restated as
" two people were riding along, quite legally, not endangering or even inconveniencing anyone (including themselves). They appeared to be enjoying themselves
But, they were doing something that I do not do. And anyone who does anything that I do not is thereby a retard"
That's an ugly attitude. A cager attitude. It is sad to see such things on a biker forum
It is a paradoxical observation that the most intolerant attitudes toward any display of individuality often seem to come from crusier riders, who frequently claim to be expressing their own individuality. Perhaps individuality is only permissable if its a standard and approved individuality.

To someone who saw them - they did not look cool. They looked stupid. This person was a motorcyclist himself. Imagine what the other drivers must of been thinking.
Just because you are on a motorcycle, doesn't mean the sun shines out of your backside and you can do no wrong.
Wait a second. So you've been saying in this thread that because these guys were, as Rob pointed out, riding legally, at the speed limit, within their own lanes, without endangering any other road users or babies, they're wankers.
Why? Because they're sportbikers who're enjoying themselves?
What would a country with you in charge look like? I can only imagine a New Zealand where the only permitted vehicle is a Corolla.
I doubt they cared less if they looked "cool". If you need to worry about it, you ain't. And less still what cagers might have thought. A fine world it would be if we were to worry what they think.
And , contrary, just because they are motorcyclists does not mean they can only do wrong.
I have seen nothing to indicate they were driving erratically or unpredicatably. Rather the reverse.
Passant, I have observed before how very often these prurient threads begin "I was driving my car" . Why, one asks, was the OP, if he be a motorcyclist himself, driving a car?

The roads - particularly motorways - are not playgrounds for having "fun" on. This is why they are wankers on bikes. Why? Because they're sportbikers who're enjoying themselves?
