Just recently while on a blat around the South Island I met a guy on his Harley, nice guy but; he had a 'Harley gang patch' on his jacket, the bandana thing going on, tassels on his jacket and handle bars, studded side saddles and belt, huge as harley belt buckle - the image is as much of it as the riding for most Harley owners isn't it.

Did he come from Balclutha by any chance?

It wasn't Scumdog was it? I know he rides a Harley and has tassels on his jacket, not too sure on the rest.

Like someone else said...HOG have been around for ages, actually since 1983... and the back patches (rockers) as well as the side patches have been around just as long...
The back patches are very popular in the states but due to conflict with some of the existing "clubs" throughout Australasia the rockers were taken off the market for us troublesome kiwis and aussies.

Then about 5-ish years ago they became available again. You won't see one on the back of EVERY HOG members jacket but if they wanna wear it proudly then good for them. Personally I think its asking for trouble from the 1%rs but thats another whole thread LOL.

I'm proud of what I choose to ride but my personal preference is for no badges OR patches aside from the one R.I.P. in memory of my dear departed.

I'm afraid you don't qualify as a spoon owner or a fork owner. But don't worry, just start your own group for spork owners. U can call it SOG.

Perhaps people over 40 will decide to form a group that only people over 40 can join - and then they will wear patches and badges to show there pride?

They could name themselves OBOB - Old Buggers on Bikes. They could come up with a good saying to put on their patches, maybe "Get off my lawn you little punk!".
