Went for a wander up central rd through to the top of the whanga's this avo.
Learn't a couple of things.
1/. NON DOT knoblies (michie S12) have an obsene level of grip in soft conditions.
and
2/. 3rd gear on the limiter in white out fog is Tooooooooo fast

Oooh yeah baby! Not just that, but S12's are THE tyre to have in soft conditions. At least they were; they've lost some of their kudos since the manufacturing was moved out of Europe.
Trail riders tend to avoid the Sharlands area in winter - when they have soft-terrain tyres fitted - as the rocky conditions destroy them in short order. Mate of mine made the mistake of taking his 525EXC up there with a new S12 on the rear, for a shake-down ride... big mistake. Killed it in one ride.
Cheers,
Colin

Not on me, they could possibly be adapted, but I think the big advantage of the ventura system is that they are customised for eah bike?
A photo wouldn't tell you much, you'd more likely want to come and see how they lined up, give me a txt on 0211674631 and you can come and see!
I'm gonna weld a bar across mine diagonally To stop the bars bending - saw one the other day done like that & struck me as a good idea. Also make a bracket to fit around the luggage rack to help with the weight distribution. Those pipes are pretty thin...
Hey anyone know where Nordie hides his key? Lets go put his tyres on back to front
hehehe
Went for a loop through the Aorere Goldfields this avo. Track is in great condition but the devils boots end is real loose as alwayswould be fun on a big bike

Rockville, Golden Bay. it's a pretty short (8km?) loop but a great detour on the way to the "naked possum" cafe.

Went to the oceanic trials champs today. never seen trialling before and bloody hell was i impressed.
Bloody amazing that they can climb up near vertical hills, go around a tree and ride down again without putting a foot down. Some were even talkin to other riders and spectators while riding a section.
Am definitely gonna wangle a go at it one day it looks like a great social sport.
KLR probarbly not suitable though.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
