Oh yeah. I'll see what the boys thinks. I still haven't got around to telling em about tangi yet lol. And my bikes in bits... gonna do water pump seal but i got the parts ordered this morn so should be sweet but you never know. with KTM the parts sometimes have to be manufactured from the seamen of the Siberian tunnel moth therefore they take a while to produce and cost arm+leg.

looks like that trail ride isn't gonn abe at mount Bruce anymore... on silverbullet it says there's a change of venue to "the clark domain" in Mauricevill (24k north of masterton). It also says that "a cancellation due to weather will be broadcast on lacal radio"... who the fuck cancels a trail ride due to weather?

Anyway... We're all sorted for Tangi on Sat and we're planning on doing the masterton one Sunday but if it's raining we'll just go up to Karapoti cos' we don't wanna turn up and find that it's cancelled.

We are all go for Tangi, but I think we are going to head up Friday night and stay with friends in a house up there, so you guys can bowl up anytime, our friends will be more than okay with you guys meeting us there on Saturday!
My friend will be looking after bubs and keeping him at the house so both me and the boy can come ride, and yeah we will look at heading *somewhere* on Sunday, I guess we wait and see whether Masterton is a go or not.....

Gonna be a good weekend either way =)

I was until about 5 minutes ago =(
Just got a phone call, a close friend of my partners dad lost his battle with Cancer so we are going to have to go to the funeral, as are the friends who own the house in Tangi we were planning to stay at.
The boys all went to school together so I cant really push for a ride dammit =(

We still are going over to M-Town Sunday if its still on though, as although we will be tied up with funeral Friday and a memorial BBQ lunch on Saturday for Brian, there isnt anything on Sunday, so we will be able to leave the family to themselves.
We knew it was coming, it's been a long time battle for him, but man, real shock round here right now. I'm trying to think what to say and whether we should offer any help and what...........

On a VERY selfish note though, why is there always something interupting my riding plans dammit LOL
I am SO keen to ride!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well we're free agents now so we may go up to Motuiti for a hoon around the MX track instead and thinking we'll flag masterton... if they gonna cancel it due to rain they must be some soft core poofs lol. We gonna nut out a new hardcore loop up Karapoti i think. Gis a txt if you end up not going to masterton and decide to come up to the poti on Sun

ok change of plan for us... again... Went up the poti today and had a blast, i have good gravel rash on my arse tho and while my head was sliding along the ground behind my bike i was thinking: "wow coool sparks" kinda hurts now tho.

Anyway we're gonna go over to this ride in Masterton now cos it's only 25 bucks and i just called him and he said it'd have to be a terrential downpour starting now for him to cancel it. He said we'd be safe to come over from welli and that he wasn't gonna cancel it so we're there. early start tho. we gotta leave welli at 7 to be at riders briefing by 9.30 (at Nissan Homy speed)

So anyone else going or did anyone else go (if you read this after sunday)

We decided not to risk it, wish I had read this earlier!!!!
Jo called the organiser who told her that he would only go ahead if the rain was no heavier than a drizzle... Because there are so many of us, she made the call to flag as there is another ride on next weekend in Otaki, more reliable terrain and apparently a better organised event.
We have such a crew that she likes to know exactly whats happening.....
This one was a mess, they had no plan for a kids/learner track, no solid rain plan and she just felt it was a bit up in the air.
Having kids in the crew means she needs to know if there is somewhere for the brood to be while they do the grown up riding.

Otaki next weekens is $25 per rider, lunch included.
Main loops + kids/learner tracks.
Only cancelled for heavy rain as its supposed to be quite rideable even damp.


We actually managed a short jaunt up to the Wind Turbine today, just for an hour or so very late this afternoon, but it was interesting.
Hardcore really....nearly chucked meself off a few times, but a good time had by all!
Thinking if its fine, we will head up for an hour or so tomorrow afternoon, probably after 1pm.

was a beaut day in masterton... was like the middle of summer. Hard to believe i know cos it was pouring in welli this morn and was almost terrential when we came back but i got sun burned lol.

Twas a grassy farm ride. not many dusty bits as it was pretty fresh grass. Super slippery with the dew on the first loop and there was a monster hill climb first thing which meant you were in trouble if ya came to a stop cos it was hard to get going again... people were going every-which way up this hill twas a laugh. We were a bit sore and weary from the Karapoti hoon on sat but we warmed up alright and got our 25 bucks worth with 3 laps of the 30k and 3 of the 20 as well as a sausage and a can of coke, great value and would recommend.

Thrashed now with my gravel rashed arse from yesterday and my knee which i slammed into the bar end today on a 4th gear, out of control, grass slide of pain... Love it.

Can't wait for the Otaki ride this weekend... I'm getting used to this grassy farm shit
