Well we'll never know if thats all it was or not, who's to say he didn't recognise the cyclist as someone wanted for another offence?

I think the sooner the cops hire more one-legged, asthmatic, dullards the safer we'll all be.
Funny you should mention it, I saw a mate deck a burglar on a bike with a well-aimed throw of a Mag-lite!!!

I suppose SOMEBODY would sympathise with the dude that was sent flying, - but then I suppose they also have never been burgled!!

Slight difference between a burglary (messing with someone else's life, infringing on their right to be, own, etc.), and not wearing a helmet on a bicycle (opening yourself to injury)...

    Ah, but it WAS funny!!!

And don't be so anal bro!!

EDIT: The way the Gov't sees it is: a $35 helmet MAY save a $35,000 worth of head surgery - so a $55 ticket is worth it if it gets somebody to wear a helmet.

The cyclist was committing an offence. He was signalled to stop but failed to do so. He was then arrested for failing to stop, facilitated by tackling him off his bike. Its a totally justifiable use of force, I've seen a couple of scooter riders get stiff armed in similar circumstances, stiff shit for the idiot cyclist.

What was funny? The cop smoking the burg with the torch? Dude I'd be cheering.

As for the cyclist not stopping, yeah he deserved it, you're asking for shit as soon as you do it. And fark that woulda been funny too. All sounds like a lot of drama over fuck all though, must be sunny down there at the mo' or something.

    Was I being anal?...probably, whatever...nearly bedtime...

My sentiments exactly, he shouldn't have been an idiot and tried to get away. Don't see what all the fuss is about.

    2 points.

    (1) the cop rides a bike. (Cop bike maybe but its better than a cage)
    (2) He knows how to take out offenders in style. (Which is also entertaining)

I'm sick of seeing people riding along the narrow edge of a main road without helmets. Some people today have no common sense

Yeah same sentiments here, having had 2 mountain bike accidents which ended up with the helmet in 2 and 9 pieces I know the value of a helmet, geez I'm retarded enough as I am but imagine how bad I would be if I didn't wear one, if I actually didn't get killed. Annoys me to no end when I see people not wearing them.
